Datong (35)

Pingyao was the birthplace of the Jin Businessmen, who were one of the two famous Chinese business groups during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

Located in Wutai County, northeast of Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, Mt. Wutai is known as ‘Roof of the North China’ with its highest peak Yemen Peak 3,058 meters (10,033 feet) above sea level. There are 5 main peaks on the mountain like five imposing pillars, but the top of the peaks are all as flat as a platform, hence its name.

Yuncheng (42)

Yuncheng has been known as the “City of Carrying Salt” in ancient times. It is also the hometown of Guan Yu, the noted general of Three Kingdoms Period.
