Yuanzhao Temple on the Mt. Wutai, Xinzhou, Shanxi Province

Ranking the first among the four Buddhist holy mountains (other three are: Mt.Putuo, Mt.Jiuhua, Mt.Emei) in China, Mount Wutai, the enlightenment place of the Bodhisattva Manjusri, is renowned both at home and abroad. The temples on the mountain were built in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 - 220) originally and were built in a large number in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) because of the prosperity of the belief in Bodhisattva Manjusri then.

Sonam, you can take K601 or K603 train from Beijing Railway Station to Wutaishan directly. Then you can take bus from there to the scenic area. It costs around CNY 20 to 25 per person.

Yes, perhaps possible. Usually it is much easier to find one from Datong to the templer and to Wutaishan. You can just go to ask the taxi driver and talk about the price.
