Ramoche Temple was first built in the middle of 7th Century. It snow stands at the north end of the famous pedestrian street of Lhasa, Barkhor Street within one kilometer away from Johkang Temple. Now it is the Gyuto Tantric college of Esoteric Sect for Gelug monks to pursue Vajrayana Buddhism. Life-sized Buddha statue of Sakyamuni at 12 years old is reserved in the monastery.
