Urumqi Downtown Area (10)
In recent years, Urumqi Ciy has developed its economy, industry, culture as well as tourism and transportation rapidly. The downtown area of the city has also become more and more prosperous.

Red Hill (6)
Situated inside the Red Hill Park, the Red Hill is considered as a landmark of Urumqi. Since the mountain is made up of aubergine rock, it looks reddish brown, hence the name Red Hill.

As the biggest Islamic mosque in Urumqi, Shaanxi Grand Mosque is situated in the northern end of Jianzhong Road.

In Mongolian 'Urumqi' means 'beautiful pastures'. The Southern Pastures just lies in the suburb area of Urumqi, about 75 kilometers (about 46 miles) away from the city.

Heavenly Lake (9)
The well-known Tianchi Lake of Xinjiang is located in the middle of Bogda Peak, which is 110 kilometers (68 miles) east of Urumqi City. In summer, the beautiful lake is an ideal cool resort, where visitors can enjoy boating on the lake.

Tianshan Mountains (12)
Tianshan Mountain is a huge mountain located in the central area of Asia, stretching through the middle part of Xinjiang and reaching to Kazakhstan in the west.

There are more than 50,000 items in Xinjiang Region Museum, displaying the local culture including costumes, religion, marriage customs and festivals.

As I know, near the Heavenly Lake, there are no nice hotels for your accommodation. You can stay in the downtown of Urumqi.
