- The Three Gorges Dam is located in the Sandouping, Yichang City, about 38 kilometers from the Gezhouba Dam in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is the largest hydroelectric project in the world. The two power stations installed with 26 generators can provide a great amount of clean electricity. Thanks for the people who built it. Also thanks for the people who had caution on many aspects of controversial. The controversial has brought about the improvement of design, caring, construction, enviromental concerns , increase of forestation efforts and the treatment of the sewage before they were dumped into the river and the attention of the "sand clogging" that has also led to the building of several more dams on the upper reach of the river and tributories. This is the democracy in progress and it benefit all people , for and against it. the open discussions eventually benefit all people concern.The success of this project must give thanks to those for and against it.
