It's not very hot in September in Beijing. Sometimes, the weather becomes very sunny. You would feel a little hot in the sun. If it rains, you may feel cool(not cold at all). So, you can pack several summer clothes and one or two light clothing (long-sleeve).

It's not chilly on the River in September. Last October, I went to there, too. I boarded from Chaotianmen Dock of Chongqing. It's not cold but too warm. Sometimes it's quite windy on the cruise ship.

There is a long-distance bus center on the right side of Chongqing Airport terminal. You can find direct bus to Fuling there. However, the bus seems to be unavailable after 18:00.
