For return trip, there is no direct high speed train from Hangzhou to Shanghai Pudong airport. Most of the bullet trains will arrive at SH Hongqiao Railway Station. Upon arrival, you can take an airport shuttle bus or subway line 2 to get to Pudong airport.

For sightseeing, here is an itinerary for reference:
March 25: Temple of Soul's Retreat
March 26: a side trip to Wuzhen Watertown
March 27: West Lake, Song Dynasty Town if time permits

The cruise can be found in Shanghai Wusongkou Ferry Terminal. Walk 250 meters from your hotel to Da Shi Jie station of Subway Line 8 and take this line to Hongkou Stadium, then change to Subway Line 3 and get off at Songbin Road. Then walk to the dock. You can get there and ask for the ticket information in advance and buy ahead of time.

Hi,I think you can go to the West Long-distance Bus Station.
As there are nine of you ,you need at least three taxi, thus bus is better. You can find bus to Thousand Island Lake at the west bus station. You can hire a driver through local travel angent.
It is safe to travel by bus there.

I am planning to go to zhangjiajie before joining Yangtze river tour from Chongqing. I see that there is a direct flight from Zhangjiajie to Chongqing by sichuan airline (I think). Does anyone know how reliable the flight is, i.e. it gets cancelled often? Because there is only one flight per day at night, and if I miss that, I will miss the river tour.

Thanks a lot

Are you sure? I have searched and found no direct flight from zhanjiajie to Chongqing as well as trains. Maybe you need to go to Changsha which has direct flights to chongqing.

When you visit the West Lake, you could have a lunch at Lou Wai Lou (30, Gushan Lu), which is a time-honored local restaurant. You could have all of these dishes there. In downtown area, you could go to Wai Po Jia, which enjoys high fame in locals and travelers as well.

The bus to Suzhou from the city just takes 2 hours on the way.
