West Lake, the most noted symbol of historic Hangzhou, is surrounded by mountains in three directions and houses many places of interest in and around the lake area.

China's National Silk Museum is the first that is specialized in silk, aiming to show Chinese silk development history in the past 5,000 years. China National Tea Museum is in the Town of Dragon Well Tea in the elegant city, Hangzhou, which is a flourishing capital of silk and tea since ancient times.
Six Harmonies Pagoda stands on the hill at the north bank of Qiantang River. This multi-storied pagoda was first built during the Northern Song Dynasty and fully reconstructed in the Southern Song after destroyed during warfare.

Hi Mrs. Dassie,

You can take a bus at Hangzhou South Bus Station to Shanxiahu Town in Zhuji. There you can find a pearl market. I am sure that you will find various kinds of pearls there.

Better not buy pearls near the West Lake, especially from those guys who claim that their pearls are produced in the West Lake. It is said that the West Lake hasn't produced pearls.

Also there are many fake pearls near the West Lake.
