12 Days of Kunming - Shangri-La - Tiger Leaping Gorge - Lijiang - Dali - Kunming

Day 01: Arrival in Kunming
Upon arrival, check in at a local hotel and have a good rest.


Day 02: Kunming
Cycle to Dianchi Lake and the Stone Forest.


Day 03: Kunming - Shangri-La
Take a morning flight to Shangri-La (Zhongdian), a predominately Tibetan town. Check in at a local hotel and visit the Tibetan Law Court and Guishan Temple where you can see the biggest rotating scripture column in the world.


Day 04: Shangri-La
Visit the Guihua Tibetan Monastery and the wild lakes of Bitahai and Shuduhu.


Day 05: Shangri-La - Baishuitai
Departing from Shangri-La, cycle several mountain ridges to Baishuitai, the backdoor route to Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the world. Stay overnight here in a local guesthouse.


Day 06: Baishuitai - Tiger Leaping Gorge
Enter the Tiger Leaping Gorge. View and admire the great amazing natural wonder of Tiger Leaping Gorge, Visit the narrow but powerful spot of the gorge where it takes its name. (Yangtze River narrows to 70 feet here)


Day 07: Tiger Leaping Gorge - Lijiang
Cycle along the Yangtze River to get to Lijiang, the center of the creative Naxi minority group.


Day 08: Lijiang
Explore Lijiang's Old Town with unique architecture and fast flowing waterways. In the afternoon, cycle to the village of Baisha and visit Baisha Frescoes.


Day 09: Lijiang - Eryuan
Cycle south to Eryuan along the old Dali-Lijiang and you can see numerous minorities in traditional dress along the road. Enjoy the hot spring bath in Eryuan.


Day 10: Eryuan - Dali
Cycle to Old Dali. Explore Dali old town, which is ideally located between the Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake.


Day 11: Dali
Cycle half way around Erhai Lake (including a short boat cruise). Visit the Three Pagodas, several villages, Lanquan Temple and Jinsuo Island.


Day 12: Departure from Dali - Kunming
Take a flight back to Kunming. Your tour ends here.
