Day 01Arrival in Beijing

Your flight will touch down in Beijing today. Our local professional guide will expect you at the airport after your baggage reclaiming and customs clearance, and then escort you to check in the hotel in downtown Beijing. Relax during the rest time of the day.

Meals: No meals
Accommodation: The Peninsula Palace

Tips: If your international flight lands in Beijing in the morning and you have no difficulty in recovering from the jet lag, it is our recommendation that you pay a visit to Jingshan Park or Beihai Park on your own. Jingshan Park is located to the north of the Forbidden City. Standing on the top of Jingshan Hill in the park, you can have a panoramic view of the Forbidden City in grandeur. The entrance fee is only CNY2.00 excluding the exhibition fee inside the garden. Beihai Park is just adjacent to Jingshan Park in the west. It is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved imperial gardens. In this park, you can be absorbed by not only picturesque scenery and long history, but also solemn religious constructions. Its entrance fee is CNY10.00 during high season and CNY5.00 during low season. Take a taxi and you will get there within 15 minutes at a cost of CNY10 to 15 from your hotel. It is wise to have a piece of paper with your destination in Chinese on it since the taxi drivers usually cannot understand English very well.

In order to leave you more time to enjoy the dinner at this featured restaurant, our guide will arrange everything ready for you and then go home with the driver. Day 03Beijing

The highlight of your Beijing travel will come today as you climb the amazing Great Wall at Badaling section in the suburb of Beijing. Rather than shopping site restaurants near the wall, we will take you to have lunch at a popular Sichuan cuisine restaurant. Then the trip continues to the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb in the afternoon. On the way back to downtown Beijing, while passing by the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium), we will make a brief stop for you to take some pictures of the huge nest.

Meals: American breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: The Peninsula Palace

Tips: It will be an energy consuming day if you climb the Great Wall and walk along the Sacred Way. There are lots of steps on the Great Wall, so a pair of shoes suitable for walking may ease you somewhat. Along the way to the entrance of the Great Wall, there are many vendors selling various souvenirs who are always aggressive. They will keep saying hello to you, waving their goods in hand. If you are not interested or have no intention of buying, you can just ignore them and walk on by. When climbing the Great Wall, bringing a bottle of water is a wise idea, especially if you are traveling in summer. A good supply of water is necessary to avoid dehydration.
