Anhui - Huangshan

Huangshan01 : Panoramic View of Huangshan This 11-day hiking route will take you to wander around the Tunxi old town, cross through Xin'an River, appreciate the characteristic Hui Residence and climb the wondrous Mt. Qiyun and Mt. Huangshan.

Huangshan02 : Mt. Huangshan Exploration Mt. Huangshan with its fascinating sceneries attracts more and more tourists coming here all year round. Its enchanting sceneries of different styles in different seasons make all visitors fulfilled and pleasant. Thousands of photo lovers also choose here as their destination.

Huangshan 03: Huangshan City - Yixian County - Mt.Huangshan - Lake Taiping - Mt.Jiuhuashan - Huangshan City

 
It's about 40 kilometers from Huangshan City to Yixian County. There are trains between two places and the runtime of the train is around one hour. Also you may get to Yixian along the provincial highway northwestwards. Upon arrival Yixian, you're suggested to visit the ancient towns of Xidi and Hongcun. Then, you can go to the Mt. Huangshan from Xidi or Hongcun, since in both towns there are roads leading to Tangkou, a town located at the foot of the Huangshan Mountain. You're suggested to stay one night in Tangkou and start to climb the mountain on the next day. On the mountain, you should not miss visiting the Lotus Peak. After that, you may use vehicles to get to the Taiping Lake. Cross the Taiping Bridge and you can find the road to the Mt. Jiuhuashan.
   

Huangshan 04: Huangshan City - Jixi County - the Ancient Hui Hang Caravan Trail - Huangshan City

 
Huangshan City is about 50 kilometers from Jixi County. You can get to Jixi by train or by road. To visit the Ancient Hui Hang Caravan Trail, you should go to Fuling Town located to the northeast of Jixi. Between Fuling and Jixi, there are no railways, while the road traffic is good.  With a total length of more than 40 kilometers, the ancient trail begins at Fuling in the west and ends in Maxiao in Linan, Zhejiang Province, which is a very important link connecting Huizhou in Anhui and Hangzhou in Zhejiang in the ancient times. Now, the best-preserved section of the trail is in Jixi County. 
 

Huangshan 05: Huangshan - Xin'an River - Shexian County - Qiyun Mountain - Huangshan Mountain - Jiuhuashan Mountain - Hefei

 
The Xin'an River originates in the area of Huangshan and finally joins in the Qiantang River in Zhejiang. Along the Xin'an River, you can go to Shexian County, which is renowned for its beautiful mountains, limpid rivers and ancient bridges. Then, you may start from Shexian to Xiuning County to climb the Qiyun Mountain. After that, you can go to visit the Mt. Huangshan and Mt. Jiuhuashan and finally go back to Hefei.
 
Tips: 1. There are through buses between the downtown Xiuning and the Mt. Qiyun.

Anhui - Chizhou

Huangshan 06: Chizhou - Xiaokeng Village - Huangyan Grand Canyon

 
From Hefei to Chizhou, there are no railways. You're suggested to go to Chizhou by bus. After that, you may go to Xiaokeng Village in Meicun Town (in Chizhou) to hike through the Xiaokeng Grand Canyon and have meal in the local villager's family. Then, you can walk along the Meixiao Road at the mouth of the canyon to visit the Juechenhu Lake, Longchi Pond, Tiger Cave, and get to the Mt. Shanshan. Cross the Mt. Shanshan and you will enter the Huangyan Grand Canyon.  
 

Anhui - Jinzhai

Huangshan 07: County - Tiantangzhai Town - Tiantangzhai Scenic Area

 
Jinzhai County is located to the southwest of Liuan City. You can get to Jinzhai and transfer to Tiantangzhai Town. In the town, you can hike through the famous Tiantangzhai Scenic Area, including the Horse Leaping Bridge, Longevity Tortoise Stone, Love Island, Tianwan Castle, Nine Dragon Pond, etc.

Next day, go to visit the last Virgin Forest in east part of China - the main scenic area pf Tiantangzhai, including the Nine Shadow Waterfall, Silver Bow Waterfall, Dragon Sword Peak, Sightseeing Peak, Stone Buddha and Long Corridor of Wooden Sea.

Tip: Near to Liuan Railway Station or at Liuan Coach Bus Station, you can find the special buses to go to Tiantangzhai Scenic Area.
