Anhui - Huangshan Hiking Tours

Huangshan03: Downtown - Yixian - Mt.Huangshan - Taiping Lake - Mt.Jiuhua - Downtown

The distance from Huangshan City to Yixian County is about 24 miles (40 kilometers). You can take a bus from the railway station or from the City General Bus Station to Yixian County through the highway. Upon arrival Yixian, you're recommended to visit the Xidi and Hongcun ancient villages. Then, you can trek to Yellow Mountain from Xidi or Hongcun, since in both villages there are roads leading to Tangkou, a town located at the foot of the mountain. You're recommended to stay one night in Tangkou and start to climb the mountain the next day.

On the mountain, you should not miss visiting the Lotus Peak. After that, you may use vehicles to get to Taiping Lake. Cross the Taiping Bridge and you can find the road to Mt. Jiuhua.

Huangshan04: Downtown - Jixi - Hui Hang Ancient Trail - Downtown

Huangshan City is about 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Jixi County. You can get to Jixi by train or by bus. To visit the Huihang Ancient Trail (Ancient Hui Hang Caravan Trail), you should go to Fuling Town located to the northeast of Jixi. Between Fuling and Jixi, there are no railways, but the road traffic is good. With a total length of more than 24 miles (40 kilometers), the ancient road begins at Fuling in the west and ends in Maxiao in Linan, Zhejiang Province, which is a very important link between Huizhou in Anhui and Hangzhou in Zhejiang in ancient times. Now, the best-preserved section of the trail is in Jixi County. 

Huangshan05: Downtown - Xin'an River - Shexian - Mt. Qiyun - Mt. Huangshan - Mt. Jiuhua - Hefei

The Xin'an River originates in the area of Huangshan and finally joins the Qiantang River in Zhejiang. Along the Xin'an River, you can go to Shexian County, which is renowned for its beautiful mountains, limpid rivers and ancient bridges. Then, you may start from Shexian to Xiuning County to climb the Qiyun Mountain. After that, you can go to visit the Yellow Mountain and Mt. Jiuhua and finally get to Hefei.
 
Tips:1. There are through buses between the downtown Xiuning and the Mt. Qiyun, and you can take the bus from Ximenqiao Bus Station.
2. From the Tangkou (South Entrance of Yellow Mountain), there are two direct buses going to Mt. Jiuhua, leaving at 06:30 and 13:30. The bus ride is about 2 hours. 

Anhui - Chizhou

Huangshan06: Chizhou - Xiaokeng - Huangyan Grand Canyon

From Hefei South Railway Station, there are bullet trains to Chizhou, and the train ride is about 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can also take the direct bus from Hefei Tourist Bus Station to Chizhou, with the ticket fare of CNY75. After that, you may go to Xiaokeng Village in Meicun Town (in Chizhou) to hike through the Xiaokeng Grand Canyon and have meal in a local villager's family. Then, you can walk along the Meixiao Road at the mouth of the canyon to visit the Juechen Lake, Longchi Pond, Tiger Cave, and get to the Mt. Shanshan. Cross the Mt. Shanshan and you will enter the Huangyan Grand Canyon.

Anhui - Jinzhai

Huangshan07: Jinzhai - Tiantangzhai

Jinzhai County is located in the southwest of Lu’an City. Both at Jinzhai Railway Station and Jinzhai Bus Station, there are direct buses going to Tiantangzhai Town. In the town, you can hike through the famous Tiantangzhai Scenic Area, including the Horse Leaping Bridge, Longevity Tortoise Stone, Love Island, Tianwan Castle, and Nine Dragons Pond.

Next day, go to visit the last virgin forest in east part of China - the main scenic area of Tiantangzhai, including the Nine Shadows Waterfall, Silver Bow Waterfall, Dragon Sword Peak, Sightseeing Peak, Stone Buddha and Long Corridor of Wooden Sea.
