Shuyuan Youth hostel in Xian. I wouldn't stay there. It's unacceptably dirty and absolutely lacks privacy in the communal facilities. The services they provide come at a price - their commission on buying train tickets was the highest we encountered. Avoid their Terracotta Warriors day tour, which they advertise as the cheapest in Xian. It's cheap because they are getting commission from all the stores they take you to and do not tell you about before you go. We started late because of some delay with the minbus, and went straight to a factory which sold terracotta warrior copies and other tourist stuff. It was supposed to be a guided tour, but that took two minutes, then we had to walk around the rest of the many shops for another half an hour. Then we went to the warriors, where we got just over two hours. It takes about 15 minutes from the gate to the vaults, then 15 minutes to look at a badly scratched and out of focus introductory film. Then you have about 80 minutes at the warriors, which is not enough to look at it all, including the museum, properly, then another 15 minute walk back through the many touts to the bus. Then they offered lunch (cost not included and in a place where no alternative was available) at a restaurant, which, surprise, surprise, also had a silk factory attached, where we were again supposed to buy stuff. Some of us tried to get out of the silk shop, but the exits were obscured and hard to find. Eventually, we left and after another delay while the bus went to get fuel, then went to a small museum for about 30 minutes. I'd been warned about this kind of tour, but still got sucked in because they weren't honest at the hostel about what was included.

I would like to recommend the Qin Emperor's Underground Palace. Although it is a man-made spot site, it is really splendid. It is a vivid model of the Qin empire in the prosperious period. You could get a full view and integrated idea of the Qin's reign and the people's life in that period. It is on the way to the Terracotta Warriors museum. The entrance fee is Y25.
