The Fan Pagoda is one of the more interesting attractions in Kaifeng. It is an ancient pagoda built in 987 A.D. and is famous for its brown carved brickwork that cover its walls. On each tile is the image of a Buddha or a deity, no two being exactly alike. The pagoda is three stories high but used to soar up the nine stories. It is possible to climb up the interior of the pagoda and take in the view. The Fan Pagoda is seemingly out of the way from the rest of the attractions in Kaifeng but it actually is not that hard to get to. It is a kilometer southeast of the walled city and towards the bus and train stations (I actually took in the site when visiting these two places). Because it receives few tourists, especially foriegners, it was one of the few attractions in China that really felt "historical" rather than just another tourist trap. The Fan Pagoda is open daily from 8am to 5pm.

If you go to Henan from Beijing, and the route can be arranged:Beijing---Zhengzhou---Kaifeng---Dengfeng---Luoyang---BeiJing.You don't need walk repeat.
Don't speak to anybody in Zhengzhou railway station, and leave the station as soon as possible.
Kaifeng is a Song Dynasty city, and the native were guileless.
From Kaifeng to Dengfeng, you have to change bus in Zhengzhou, but it is very very easy!
Dengfeng:Shaolin Temple,I advise that you can climb the Shaoshi mountain and walk to the Temple, about 4 hours, don't go there by bus!The second day in Dengfeng, you can visit Songyang College and Taishi mountain(too terrible, about 5300 steps, like go ot the upstairs,if you have no enough physical force, don't climb it).
Luoyang:I think only Longmen Cave was worthy to visit, the city is not as my image, disappointed!
