We just came back from our fabulous china visit. We did have a good time, except the train travel from Xian to Luoyang. Absolutely the same feeling with Mr. Marcus Neuws. It is really a nightmare especially for us, one 70s old couple. As we came across the period when the guide were restricted to entre the train station to see off, we had to manage all of the things by ourselves. We took two tooo large luggages and there were crowded of people at the train station. What's worse, we had to climb lots of steps up and down. It was impossible for us to drag our luggages rolling along the slippery way, for it's too steep. We were totally exhausted when we boarded the train.

Take our suffering for experience, and consider carefully before take a train journey. We here also suggest the travel agent take your clients' age and health condition into consideration to decide which kind of travel they could accept.

Here we want to remind the senior visitors had better escape from the train travel in your itinerary. There are often many steps in the railway station in China. What's worse, there is no elevator. As a result, you have to carry your big luggages up and down stairs on your own. Generally, the travel agency will arrange the soft sleeper train for your long journey. There are generally 4 bunks in each compartment on the train. It is impossible for the elder people to manage staying at the upper berth. To keep the privacy, our couple paid the extra two berths in our compartment.

In our itinerary, it takes about 5-6 hours by train from Xian to Luoyang. Generally, the agency will arrange the soft seat train tickets. It means you will have to sit upstraight for 5-6 hours, which is apparently hard for the elders to put up with. Without any other proper transportation, the agency arranged the soft sleeper train for us. It comes out to be really a hard trip for us. So i am here suggest other potential elder visitors avoid the train travel in China possibly. Good luck!

Shaolin Temple - Can i have a day class in Shaolin Monastery Wushu Institute at Tagou (phone: 274 9627) and stay in this school

Client's information:
Mr.Martins Zutis , Latvia , 2007-10-9 14:47
Answer: Usually,if you want to take a Wushu class, there is a Kongfu school called Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center is recommended. This is a normal school founded by National Tourism Bureau and the government of Henan Province. Also, it is a school for learning Wushu which is assigned by Henan Tourism Bureau and General Administration of Sports of China. The school is near to Shaolin Temple, just 5 to 10 minutes walk. Also, there is a newly-built hotel in the school called Henan Zen International Hotel (4 star). It is very convenient to stay at that hotel during the Wushu class. But if you only want to take one or two days for class, you can only learn some basic and simple moves.
