Day 01Arrival in Beijing
Our guide will meet you outside the customs at Beijing Capital International Airport and transfer you to the appointed hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city. As your tour includes the most beautiful landscapes in China, take your camera and be ready for a natural scenery tour or a photo tour!

Our clients at Tiananmen Square, BeijingDay 02Beijing
In the morning, you will take a short stroll around Tiananmen Square, which is known as the largest city square in the world. Standing on the square, you can see many famous Beijing attractions like Tiananmen Tower, the Great Hall of the People, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. Then walk northward to the Forbidden City. Namely the Palace Museum, it is a vast museum of the imperial architecture and historical items of the Ming and Qing dynasties (from 14th century to the early 20th century). To avoid having lunch at the tourist eateries arranged by most agencies, we will offer you an a la carte lunch at a noted local restaurant, where you can taste the authentic Chinese food. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven, which is the imperial alter for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship for gods and is considered the world's largest group of constructions for worship. Then a lively Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theatre will give you an unforgettable Beijing night.

Retired people's Life, BeijingDay 03Beijing
For the whole morning, you will take an excursion at the famous world heritage, Badaling Great Wall. As you stand on it, you will be shocked by the solid and winding wall and the firm beacon towers. Rather than having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will have Sichuan food at a popular local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb. As the first attraction in the Ming Tombs, the Sacred Way is decorated by stone statues of human and animals on both sides. It is believed that the statues are the guards of the passed emperors. The Ming Tombs, as its name indicates, is a group of tombs for 13 emperors during the 15th to 17th century. When getting back to downtown, you will have a short stay near the Bird's Nest (the National Stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games) and take photos with it.

Today's visit starts from the largest imperial garden of China, the Summer Palace, where you will enjoy the splendid natural landscape of Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake, the typical Chinese garden constructions of long corridor, bridges and pavilions, as well as the splendid imperial buildings. Enjoying the rickshaw riding through Hutongs will be your memorable experience. Here you will feel the special Beijing culture and history by visiting the famous romantic Shichahai, classic Yinding Bridge, dazzling Yandaixiejie, grand Bell tower or Drum tower and local flavored family. After enjoying a rich a la carte lunch at a decent local restaurant with nice environment, you will take a flight to Chengdu. Your local guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area of the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Huanglong sceneryDay 05Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou - Huanglong
You will take a morning flight to Jiuzhaigou. After lunch, we will transfer you to Huanglong to spend the rest of the day in the scenic area. Enjoying the fame as “the fairy land on earth”, Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area is well known for the colorful ponds and waterfalls, snow mountains, gorgeous valley and dense forest. The most splendid attraction you will visit is the Multi-colored Pond, which is also the elite of the whole scenic area. The colorful ponds glisten like blue crystals; some will also turn to red or purple under the sunshine. You could also find romance especiall for a honeymoon tour. Besides the splendid natural scenery, you will also visit the historical site, Huanglong Monastery. Then we will transfer you to Jiuzhaigou to for a two-night stay.

You will have a full day tour to another fairyland, Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historical Interest Area, which boasts blue lakes, waterfalls, ancient trees, dense forests, snow-capped mountains and unique culture of Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups. The most beautiful lake you will see is the Multi-colored Lake, which glows with blue, green, yellow and light red because of the different colors of the calc-sinter, alga, and plants under the water. In the scenic area, you can also see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in China, the Nuorilang Waterfall, the longest lake and the splendid Pearl Beach. (Tips from TravelChinaGuide: weather in Jiuzhaigou is changeable, so an umbrella or a raincoat and a warm overcoat are quite necessary; sunglasses and sun block are also essential).

JiuzhaigouDay 07Jiuzhaigou - Chengdu - Leshan - Mt. Emei
Take a morning flight back to Chengdu. After having lunch in Chengdu City, you will travel to Leshan Mountain and take boat to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest statue of Maitreya in the world. Carved in the Tang Dynasty, about 1,300 years ago, the statue is 71-meter-high (233 feet) and has three-meter-long (11 feet) fingers and eight-meter-long (about 27 feet) instep, sitting at the confluence of the three rivers and leaning against the Leshan Mountain. Continue the trip to Mt. Emei and check in the hotel upon arrival.

You will visit the Baoguo Temple and the Wannian Temple on Mt. Emei today. As one of the four most famous Buddhist mountains in China, Mt. Emei is 3,099-meter-high (10,167 feet) on its highest peak, boasting splendid landscape, abundant plants, precious trees, lovely monkeys and Buddhist temples. Sheltered by ancient pines and cypresses, the Baoguo Temple is the first attraction on Mt. Emei, and houses many Buddhist treasures. As you climb on to the middle section of the mountain, you will see one of the oldest temples on Mt. Emei, the Wannian Temple, which has a history of more than 1,600 years. Return to Chengdu after the day tour.

Minority group in LijiangDay 09Chengdu - Lijiang
After breakfast, you will have a pleasant panda tours by seeing the adorable Giant Pandas at the Panda Base. Then fly to Lijiang and check in the hotel once arriving. Visit the Square Street of Lijiang Old Town. As one of famous world heritages, Lijiang Old Town is famous for the long history of over 800 years, the elegant and peaceful scenery, the ancient buildings and streets, as well as the unique culture of minority groups. Situated at the center of the town, the Square Street is a trapezoid-shaped square, where many dazzling shops, tea houses, unique bars and restaurants clustered. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the town.

Chinese villagesDay 10Lijiang
In the morning, you will first visit the Baishui River (White Water River). The riverbed is formed by pieces of grayish-white sedimentary rocks and can be seen clearly through the pellucid water, hence the name. Then visit the Dry Sea (Ganhaizi), which is a vast meadow surrounded by mountains from three sides. Situated at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the spacious meadow provides a perfect place to have a panoramic view of the snow-covered mountains. Take a cable car up to the Spruce Plateau. As its name indicates, the Spruce Plateau is a broad meadow sheltered by dense primeval spruce. Standing on the plateau, you can get a closer view of the lofty Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Then travel to the Baisha Village, you will learn the unique custom and splendid culture of the Naxi ethnic group through your visit to a local Naxi family and the Baisha Murals. Finally come to the Yuhu Village, where you will visit the former residence of the famous Austrian-American explorer, Joseph Rock.

Your tour proceeds to Dali with about three hours' drive today. On the way, you will visit the Bai Traditional House in Xizhou and then Zhoucheng, famous for tie dyeing. Bai Minority makes up 65 percent of Dali population. Their traditional residence is very unique and features delicate decorations of screen walls, colored murals and wood carvings. Once arriving, you will check in the hotel in Dali and have a good rest.

Three Pagodas, Dali, YunnanDay 12Dali - Kunming
Today's visit starts from the Erhai Lake Park, which is famous for the gorgeous view of peaceful water, blue sky, lofty Cangshang Mountain covered with snow and ice, and dense primeval woods. Then you will visit the symbol of Dali, the Three Pagoda Temple. Built in the 9th century, it is one of the oldest and most majestic buildings in Yunnan. The three pagodas are the highlights of the temple. The highest is a 69.13-meter-high (226.8 feet) 16-storey square pagoda, while the other two are two 42.4-meter-high (about 139 feet) 10-storey octagon-shaped pagodas. Then take a relaxing walk around the tranquil Dali Old Town. After that, you will take a flight to Kunming and check in the hotel once arriving.

In the morning, you will visit the famous Stone Forest, which is renowned for vast extent of upright karst formation of all kinds of shapes, such as sword, mushroom, tower and castle. Then head to the Golden Temple, which was built with brass, glittering with golden light under the sunshine, hence the name. Except for the 390-year-old temple itself, there are also many famous historical items like the copper bell, the copper sword, and the steel pavilion, reflecting the advanced steel manufacture around 15th century in the Ming Dynasty. Visit the Flowers and Birds Market in the afternoon. Kunming is known as “the City of Spring” because of the pleasant climate all year round, which provides a comfortable environment for flowers. In the market, you will see varies beautiful flowers as well as lovely birds and goldfishes.
