When planning a tour, consult your travel agent about the difficulty index of the spot visiting, or read some tips about the sightseeing you planned. I am very interested in Guizhou province to visit the minority groups of China, however, our agent declined me to travel there. They said it is a very tough trip to visit Guizhou. Let alone the hard condition of hotels and dining, several hours driving journey each day would be unbearable for seniors. But it doesn't mean that the handicapped pals cannot take a tour. As i know from the tips I read, wheelchair can be rented in China at about RMB200-400Yuan per day. You can also hire a servant to push the wheelchair for you. All of these can be handled by your travel agent and you just need to pay the cost. China has been making great progress nowadays, and every issue can be dealt. Take it easy and make full preparation, and you will have a nice visit to China.
If you are interested in Chinese culture and custom, visit China during their festivals and join in the local people's celebrating activities. It would be a totally different trip for you. Typical Chinese annual events includes: Lantern Festival - held on the 15th day of the first moon of the Chinese New Year. It is a big, colorful event that features the famous lion dances. Tomb Sweeping Day - this event occurs in April. During this observance features the Chinese people spending the day tending the graves of their dear departed ones. Dragon Boat Festival - this event comes in June. You can participate in the ornate canoe races which are held to pay homage to the poet Qu Yuan. Water-Splashing Festival - held in mid April Mid-Autumn Festival - held in September or in October, you will get a chance to taste the Chinese moon-cakes. Spring Festival - although it is the most important festival in China, it is the date for family reunion. There is not much activities held.
In southern China, Guizhou province, where the minority groups live, there will be many other festivals and many other types of celebration. China is too large and comprehensive a country. Explore any part of it will leave you life-long good memory.
