Mr.Bonvie Weddle(United Kingdom)said:

Your quotation for this tour seems fairly high; could you please advise the specific quotation? Is it a good time to visit Jiuzhaigou in November?

Tina replied:

If your tour includes Jiuzhaigou, the tour price will jump sharply as the transportation within the scenic area is very expensive. Jiuzhaigou is always snowy in November and the scenery will be not as good as that in summer time.

The best way from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou

There is no train or water way from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, so there are only two means left, by bus or by flight. My suggestion is to take the bus and flight in combination. Taking the bus round way will be too long and weary but could see the beautiful scenery along the way while taking the flight is fast and more comfortable, but cannot see anything on the way and more expensive. So the best way is to take bus in and flight out. Do you agree?

Mr.JSL(Hong Kong)said:

We had a vacation during Christmas in Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan and stayed in Intercontinental Jiuzhai Paradise Resort for 4 days 3 nights.
The hotel is quite nicely set in the middle of mountains, room settings and hardware is quite alright. We arrived on Dec 23rd evening and could get our room fast during checkin. We had upgraded to VIP mountain view room as we are gold card member of Priority Club. Some comments said toilet in room is very samll, but ours is not that samll but there is no bath tub though.
The hardware of the hotel is alright but the services are below standard, especially their F&B service. All guests, no matter group tour guests or other guests are grouped together to have breakfast in a large ''canteen-like'' dinning area, serveral mornings we were there and need to fight for food with group tours, no staff pay atteniton to you when you walk in, no one guided you for a seat, you need to walk around the huge dinning hall to search for a seat.
Food supply was insufficient, no supply of yoghurt, no choice of how to cook your eggs, no coffee cup (need to use a glass to make your own coffee) etc. Tables are dirty and stained with left over food.
On the same evening, we went to the cafe and tried to look at the menu, once we stepped in the cafe, a staff approached us and asked: "Which group tour are you belong to?" We are quite suprised & seem like all staffs are only trained to serve Group Tour! we asked what other western restaurant choices in the hotel, he doubted and asked us to go to a Sichuan restaurant!!?? We finally ordered room service in the evening and the food arrived the room icy cold, same as the temperature outside!
The F&B and general service of this hotel need significant attention and imporvement to meet 5 stars standard. Sadly, there is a Sheraton in Jiuzhaigou area but the comments are even worse ~!

Ms.Annie(Belgium)said:

I took a 5-Day tour to Jiuzhaigou with my chinese friend this May. I was really astonished by its beautiful sceneries that i had never seen before. I took lots of photoes by that time, tried to keep the picturesque view forever. It really deserves visit. But meanwhile, I was really shocked by the crowds of people at the scenic spot as well. I can''t find even one photo that was simply just the natural scene. All of them were filled with turnout, though i had tried my best to avoid involving people into the natural beauty when i took the photos, and apparently I failed ^_^

Later, i was told by my chinese friends that it is always congested at the scenic spots during the public holidays. Usually there are three large holidays. That is May Day, first two weeks of May, National Holiday, first two weeks of October and the Chinese New Year, for which the date varies but generally late January or early February. What do you expect when the entire Chinese nation are on holiday? Try to avoid these periods. Believe me, the crowds during these periods of time will be unbelievably scary.

Ms.Jeannie Messner(Germany)said:

Last year we had a trip to Jiuzhaigou. It is so nice a trip that we even can remeber the details now. First, we would like to give you a brief introduction to Jiuzhaigou and some tips. With some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery on earth and some of the reserves scenic spots considered holy by the local Tibetan and Qiang people, Jiuzhaigou really lives up to her name, naming "paradise on earth". It is worthy of visiting there. Many people are drawn to the area all year round, so the entrance tickets of all the sightseeing spots, the car transfer fee, meals as well as the hotel room rate are so higher than that of other place in China. If you would like to visit this paradise on earth with lower price, we suggest you go to Jiuzhaigou after Nov and before March in the next year. Not only the hotel room rate, also the entrance fee of Jiuzhaigou will be much lower than the other time. But the weather condition is not very nice, it will get cold after October and even the mountain and the road might be restricted if the weather goes worse. As the saying goes: One cannot make an omelet without breaking eggs. But it worth of thinking of.

Mr.Allen Toowen(Malaysia)said:

Some tips on Jiuzhaigou tour:
1. In Jiuzhaigou, between morning and night the difference of temperature can be tremendous. I toured there in April, as I went into Jiuzhaigou in the morning I wore wadded jacket and still felt a little bit cold, however it turned to be quite hot in the noon and T-shirt was ok, when the night fell chilliness went back again! So heavy clothes are highly necessary.
2. I had never imagined how strong the ultraviolet radiation would be there, so I didn’t make any preparation and the sunlight nearly peeled off my skin. Don’t forget take suntan oil with you.
3. The management of Jiuzhaigou tour district is rather good. Many public security boxes interspersed there, dustmen keeps cleaning sundries here or there in order to leave tourists a good impression and mood, so you don’t have to worry your head about your security while you are touring.
4. No tourist is allowed spending night in Jiuzhaigou and there is no need spending night there, because there are so many different hotels and guesthouse around the entrance of Jiuzhaigou and also the admission ticket can be used twice.
5. Cost on Jiuzhaigou tour will be a little higher, but this is acceptable, because it is after all a famous tour district.

Mr.Sirsaid:

When we took a tour of Jiuzhaigou and Xian this summer, at first we wanted to take a train from Jiuzhaigou to Xian firstly. However, we were informed that the train schedule is unavailable from Jiuzhaigou to Xian because there is no railway station in Jiuzhaigou. The best method of the transportation from Jiuzhaigou to Xian is to take plane. However, the direct flight of Jiuzhaigou/ Xian is not daily available all the time. Generally, there will be direct flight of jiuzhaigou/ Xian during the high travel season. If there is no direct flight from Jiuzhaigou to Xian, can take flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou first and take a connecting flight there to Xian.

Ms.Debara(Australia)said:

When we visited Huanglong in Jiuzhaigou, the guide urged us to buy the oxygen at RMB50/can to prevent from the high altitude reflection. After we entered Huanglong, we found the price was really RMB25/can. The guide still exclaimed that the oxygen of 50/can was pure while the one of 25/can was not for human use, which came to be totally a lie. Such a money oriented guide!
