Mr.Reyes Listasaid:

How far is Datong from Beijing? would it be too much time and cost to do a 1 day visit by car from Beijing to the Yungang buddhist caves, then fly from Beijing to Xian?

Aug. 18,2009 04:38
Ms.Ashish replied:

According to the information I searched on the website, it is about 374 kilometers between Beijing and Datong, then it should be a very tiring and long journey by car. And 1 day is absolutely not possible to do the tour. Even you take train, it still takes 6.5 hours from Beijing to Datong.

Ms.HELENO123(Australia)said:

Alf and I travelled with Travel China Guide in 2006 and had a wonderful time. We would like to use the company again. However, the tours listed don't quite suite our requirements. We want to start and finish in Hong Kong - we will be staying with family - and see southern China over a 2 week period. We want to travel in the seond and third weeks in November 2009. Your suggestions please.

Jul. 12,2009 21:25
Ms.Alisha replied:

They provide private tours which can be customized. You can contact with them and tell them your requirement, and they can arrange a tour schedule accordingly. Nowadays, the tour service is becoming more and more thoughtful. I think any of your requirement could be met.

It’s up to you according to your own preference. And yes, the Xihai Hotel is on the top of the mountain and you can see the sunrise near the hotel.

"I have to tell you some information about the flu. The authority asks anyone coming from other countries to isolate himself for one week from public places to prevent infection, even if for the time being he does not present a fever or other symptoms."Do you know if this information is correct?

Jul. 8,2009 20:55
Mr.Jun Wong replied:

Actually this saying is not correct. Visitors from overseas countries will be quarantined only under two situations. One is that the visitor has a symptom of flu. The other is that the visitor has taken the same flight with the diagnosed patient. So many people come to China from overseas countries every day. So please do not worry.

Is the train fare cheaper or more expensive than the airfare? Are there different classes of travel?

Jul. 6,2009 22:29
Ms.Ping Teh replied:

Of course the train fare is much cheaper than the airfare. Generally there are 4 classes of seats on the train, hard seats, soft seats, hard sleepers and soft sleepers. The accommodation condition on the train must be not as good as you expected. Look for more information about the train before you decide to take it.
