Can anyone tell me about a tour that includes Mount Everest base, Lhasa, Lugu lake with a visit to Mosou Villages?? I am planning to leave this summer for 2 weeks.
Lhasa visit was the best...the food, beer, monastaries. Potola Palace was amazing! more so than the Great Wall this trip. I got a prayer wheel that will always bring me back to Lhasa. Kerry

How about the admission fees for the major attractions in Tibet? I got that Tibet cut ticket prices last winter to boost winter tourism. Have they increased the prices now?
Sep. 1,2009 04:33 Mrs.Hannah replied:
Currently, it is still the travel season of Tibet. The Tibet Tourism Bureau has increased the ticket prices for most major tourist sites in Tibet since March, 2009. However, the low travel season will come soon and the ticket price will be hopefully cut down again.
I intend to take the bus from Lhasa to Katmandu to extend my travel in Nepal. Give me some information please.
Aug. 20,2009 03:25 Ms.Tina replied:
If you want to take a bus to Katmandu, you would need to travel to Zhangmu, which will take about 3 days driving along the way. You may stay overnight at Gyangtse or Shigatse and Dingri.
Do we need to get immunizations of any kind? How do we check?
Aug. 19,2009 20:48 Mr.Henry replied:
In China, people from a yellow fever area are required to show proof of yellow fever vaccination. For those who plan to travel between counties, this must be taken in consideration when you travel from a yellow fever area and then plan to enter China. Before traveling in China, you may need to consult your doctor for health advice or a thorough check up if you have not had one recently.
My wife and I are Australian, but currently living in China as residents. Do we need a permit or a different kind of visa to enter Tibet. We are hoping to travel down from Beijing late August/early September - what is the weather like at this time?
I hear that individual tourists are not alloed to entry Tibet, travellers to Tibet must take part in a group, is that right?
Aug. 9,2009 03:49 Mr.Tony replied:
The real situation is that you need to accompanied by a local guide who would be assigned by a local renowned travel agency. Foreigners would not be travel to Tibet without any Travel Permit!
I would like to Lhasa by train, is it possible for a foreigner to purchase a ticket in Beijing? Or, do I have to take part in a tour since I heard that no foreigner is allowed to enter into Tibet alone.
Aug. 6,2009 03:31 Mr.Qi(China) replied:
ou need a permit at first, Mr. Hanson. To apply for the permision to travel in Tibet, you should take copies of your visa and the main page of your passport, as well as your career certification. I have heard that diplomats and journalists are not allowed to Tibet. Not sure about this. You will be rejected to get in the train and plane to Tibet.
If we travel in that time (9-18 Dec.09) to Tiebt and then to the Everest Base Camp, have any problems from the weather or blocked road or not?
Aug. 5,2009 00:40 Mr.Johson replied:
Let me explain it in details. If you travel to Everest Base Camp in December, the road will be blocked if there is heavy snow. In addition, it will be slippery and dangerous if drive on the road, especially to travel to the Everest Camp. Actually, climbing Mt. Everest is very dangerous, only those who can endure the adverse weather and experienced climbers should venture onto its slopes. The area is frequently beset with sudden storms, snow, wind and the weather may change quickly in a day. Only the periods between early March and late May, along with early September and late October are fit for climbing, among which less than 20 days are actually fine. Additionally, the hotels in Gyangtse , Shigatse, Dingri and the Everest Base Camp are very simple due to the local limited conditions, and the central heating are not available in the hotel, thus it will be chilly, which is not suitable for tour. While it just ok for Lhasa city at that time.
