Hi...we are a tabletennis team coming from south africa on a tour to shanghai and beinjing, we are there for 4 nights in each city, we have families and would like to buy gifts such as electronics and clothing..name brands is what we are looking for...can anyone help by telling us where to go to? how to bargain?

My flight SQ826 will arrive Pudong Airport 6.25am and i need to travel to Hongqiao airport to take my domestic flight MU5549 at 10.15am to Qingdao . Will i have enough time considering i have to clear my luggage from pudong , travel and check in to hongqiao ?

I want to know how much is the taxi charge from Pudong airport/Hongqiao airport to Ningbo airport?

This is really a crazy idea to take a taxi from Pudong to Ningbo. Ok, from Pudong to Ningbo downtown the fare should no less than 2,000yuan at daytime. And, I think few taxi drivers would like to have such an experience.

visa is required for the whole of china, i went ther last summer i am from the netherlands. you better hurry up because it can be pretty hard to get a visa. you can apply at the chinese embassy ( no idea where it is in Phillipines
My family and I, 2 adults and 3 children will arrive at Hongqiao Airport in April. Since we will have at least 3 pieces of luggage, we would like to be dropped directly to our hotel doorstep. Taxis are not ideal as we would have to be separated. Can anybody suggest a better means of transport to downtown.

Yalong International Hotel (4 star) is 20 minutes by car to the Shanghai International Convention Center and 5 minutes by car to the Shanghai Pudong Exhibition Center. It would take a long time by walking and might not be convenient. There is a 5 star hotel, The Eton Hotel with 15 minutes walking to the Shanghai International Convention Center.

We would like to go around on our own. Is it possible to hire a taxi or van on the airport and to let that same van or taxi take us for the tour around Shanghai for our 7 days' stay? I suggest you take a package tour, as there are youngers and older in your group. Take a package tour can save you the trouble and the guide and driver can take good care you, although it would be a little expensive.
How many days advance should I make a seat reservation from Shanghai to Suzhou? Are trains to that town really crazy crowded on Saturday mornings, or is weekday much better for travel?

Every day, there are lots of trains from Shanghai to Suzhou, but some haven't got seat. You could go to station directly to buy the ticket, only takes 1hour to there.

You need a transit visa. USA (and other 20 countries)passport holders can stay in Shanghai without a transit visa only if they lay over within 48 hours. For attractions in Shanghai, it is difficult to tell. Go up to the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jade Buddha Temple, the Bund and so on. You can refers to the attactions section on the web.

Recommend you to take the airport bus of Line 1 which depart from Pudong to Hongqiao directly. The journey is about 1 hour. Please note that the operating time is between 7am to 11pm with a fare of 30rmb. If your arrival is out of it, only taxi is in service. The cost is around 250rmb.
For the Expo, would different exhibition halls house the pavilions from different countries? I assume it is easy to get transport from hotel to Expo site. Is that correct?

There are clear signs on the road and there will be special subway to the Expo directly. Shanghai government are trying their best to guarantee the easy transportation in Shanghai during the Expo.
We plan to arrive arriving Shanghai Pu Dong airport on the evening of Monday 23rd November. We plan to go via magnetic train then taxi Deliver to Hotel. Any idea?
