On the first day, drive you from Urumqi to Kuitun. Kuitun City is located 253 kilometers to the east of Urumqi and 140 kilometers to the south of Karamay. It will take about 3 hours to drive directly from Urumqi. On the way, stop at Mannas County and visit the Mannas Ancient City. After you got to Kuitun, have meal and rest there. Drive northward to Karamay. Karamay, in the heart of the local people, is another name for the oil city as it is the first vast oil field ever since the foundation of the People' Republic of China. Located in northwestern Xinjiang, it has not been known to the outside until the 1950s for petroleum production. With the shore petroleum found and exploitation, more and more oil worker come from all over the county and settled here. It became a city with better and better construction. Now, it is a modern city and the people there lead an abundance life. On the way to Karamay, visit the No.1 Well of Karamay. The Well, drilled in July in 1955, weighs important in the world of petroleum exploration and petroleum industry. In the October in 1982, a monument was set up to memorize the first well of Karamay and the opening of a new petroleum industry age. In the evening, arrive in Karamay and check in the hotel. On the second day, you will visit the Heiyoushan (Black Oil Hill) Park and the Wurhefeng Demon City. Karamay, means the black oil in the Uygur language, got the name from the natural black Asphalt Hill on the north of the city. The park is built near to the Heiyoushan (Black Oil Hill). The park is similar to any other parks in China. However, the two highlights in the park made it unique from others. One is the sculpture group of the exploiter of the oil field in the 1950s. The other is the well effuses the black crude oil. Besides the spots in the park, you will meet some oil workers and feel their way of life. Then, drive on to the Wuerhe Demon City in the Wuerhe County of 96 kilometers northward from Karamay City. The ghost city has another name called the windy city. Judging from the two names, you may see some feature of this place. Actually, the ghost city is a area with typical grand and marvelous Yadan Landforms. Located in the desert and Gobi, it is one of the most famous four ghost cities in China. The intermittent flood and erosion corrosion of the strong wind worked together on this land for years and thus formed the magic landscape. Viewed from a distance, the ghost city looks like an ancient medieval castle with a sense of desolation and terror. The richer imagination you have, the more view you may see here. After the visit, return back to Karamay and end the tour.
