Where is tsedang, can it be visited within one day and then back to Lhasa?
Nov. 13,2009 04:49
Mr.Tonger replied:
No problem. Tsetang is not far from Lhasa. One day is enough.

Mr.SIMON replied:
Tsetang is about 170km away from Lhasa and you need to catch morning ferry to visit the Samye Monastery in Tsetang. I’m afraid one day is quite strain for you to take a round trip from Lhasa to Tsetang. 2 Days are fine.

The high season is from Mar 1 to Nov 31, while the low season is from Dec 1 to the end of Feb. This tour is available daily. The more people you have, the cheaper your price would be. Generally it is divided into classes of 1 person, 2-5 people, 6-9 people, 10 and above people as a group. Hope I make you clear.

Before we decide for schedule for tris trip we must to know how many days we must spend in Beijing (or Xian) to get all permits for traveling to Tibet? I mean that we can have only 2 weeks holidays, arrive to Beijing (Xian) late evening on August of 8th (or maybe 7th) and then take a train Beijing (Xian) - Lhasa.
May. 25,2009 14:05
Kina replied:
The Tibet Permit is required to visit Lhasa and surrounding cities. We will apply for the Tibet Permit for you once you confirm the booking and we will get it 10 days prior to your entry Lhasa. Then we will send it to you after your arrival in Beijing.
We do not suggest clients take train to Lhasa for the following reasons. First, the train journey is very long, 48 hours, and you will feel bored and tired for such a long trip. Second, the train tickets to Lhasa can only be purchased 10 days prior to the departure date, and it is easily be charted by the government officials, thus we can not promise the availability of the tickets. So we friendly suggest you take flight to Lhasa instead. Hope for your kind understanding.
On the train in China, the soft-sleeper carriages are divided into separate compartments and each compartment has two lower and two upper berths. If the number of your group can not occupy one compartment, you need to share the compartment with other strangers. Please refer to the following URL for the train condition in China:

Are all the rooms twin beds? is it possible to have some rooms with double/queen?
Apr. 29,2009 09:46
Ruby replied:
Betty, if you need we will try our best to arrange double rooms for you while available, but please kindly note that as this type of rooms are very limited at each hotel, we can not promise the availability for you, for where not possible, we will book the standard twin room for you instead. Hope for your kind understanding.
Most hotels in China are equipped with twin beds mainly, that means the room with two separate beds. Double rooms at each hotel are very limited, it is better if you can book them earlier.

Near the Jokhang Temple and along the Tibetan Hospital Road, there are a lot of nice and comfortable restaurants. Some of them serve western food, Nepalese and Indian food. Snowland Restaurant, Lhasa Kitchen, Naga French Restaurant and Tashi Restraurant are recommended. On the southeastern corner of Barkhor Street, there is a well-known Tibetan restaurant for backpackers. Sitting at the second floor gives you an amazing view escpecially at sunset by covering the part of Barkhor Street. Most restaurant sell Yak meat which is a must try in Tibet.

To show the respect to Buddha, here are some don''t you need to know:
1. Don''t walk around the stupas and other sacred objects in a clock-wise direction
2. Don''t climb on statues, mani stones or other sacred objects
3. Don''t wear hat inside the Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace etc... No short pants or tank tops. It is a acquiescent custom to leave a small money offering when you visit the shrines.
4. Photography is NOt allowed inside the Potala Palace. Some other monasteries allow photography upon payment of a certain fee. Anyway, ask before you turn on your camera.

Hey guys,
Going to the Great Wall is definitely a must! I was so enthralled that when I got to one of the posts selling certificates that you did indeed climb the Wall, I hastily bought one. I got one without my picture in it for 30yuan!...as I walked further there were other stalls with the same service but with much lower price and with your photo in it! So for you guys out there...haggle a little!
