The current situation of the Great Wall is at stake and to protect the wall is urgent. It is everyone's responsibility to preserve it. Due to its super size and length, the Great Wall cannot be kept in museums like the way of preserving other cultural relics, which make it more difficult to preserve it than others. We are Indian passport holders, kindly advice if single entry will be OK to go to CAN arriving, Lhasa etc and out from HKG.

Mr.Farhan replied:

single entry visa is fine. Tibet is a part of China, and as I know, Indian passport holders can stay in Hongkong 14 days without a visa. If you enter China Mainland twice, double entry visa is needed.

Lhasa...is just magical. Actually we didn''t really know what to expect but it is really something out of the ordinary. The main street, Beijing Road is full to the rim with fancy shops of every kind and you will find anything you need there. Tibetan culture and traditions are visible everywhere. Wherever you look at, your eyes will be met by surrounding mountains and tibetan wilderness like nothing else. You can see the tibetans in their traditional costumes. Their hair styles and accessories are really so unique and beautiful...

We visited the Jokhang Temple but since we were not religiously inclined, the temple and its history meant very little to us. However, it was amazing to witness the devotions of some of the pilgrims performing the body long kow-tows the entire day in return for better karmas. The Bakhor Street next to Jokhang Temple is Lhasa''s oldest street with colorful Tibetan features and houses. You can get souvenirs from here but that requires a very good skill of bargaining.

The Barkhor Street is a circular street around Jokhang Temple in the center of Lhasa. On this oldest street, you can enjoy bargaining with the local Tibetan vendors for the handicrafts which are rare to be seen elsewhere. Here you can also see many pilgrims walk around Jokhang Temple while turning prayer wheels in their hands. It is the right place to buy some souvenirs of local flavor for your family members and friends.
