It records the affinity between Tibet local government and China central government since Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). The porcelain and jade works are the best witness of the communication between Tibetan and Han People in history.
Norbulingka Park - It is said that the area around Norbulingka was shrub forest where the Lhasa River passed by. Before the 1740s, this piece of land was a wilderness. When the Seventh Dalai Lama learnt the Buddhist sutras in the Drepung Monastery, he usually came here spending the summer. He loved this place very much, thus pitched a few tents here for rest and reading the sutras. That was the origin of Norbulingka Park.

The Jokhang Temple is currently the most ancient wooden complex of Tibet. Constructed during the splendid Tubo Period, the temple created a distinct architectural style, which combines the architectural styles of Tibet, the Tang Dynasty, India and Nepal. Due to this, it has been considered as a model ecclesiastical building in Tibet.
Barkhor Street - Having a history of over 1,300 years, the Barkhor Street formed with people's pilgrimage to the Johkhang Temple it surrounds. In the 7th Century, the King of Tibet, Songtsem Gampo, ordered to build the Jokhang Temple which later attracted many pilgrims. Gradually, a ring-shaped road around the temple was trod, which was the earliest Barkhor Street. Later, 18 buildings were constructed for accommodating the pilgrims. The tourist high season in Tibet area is from April to October. The scenery during this period is most beautiful among the whole year and some major important festivals like Sheton Festival is also in August. Most of tourists come to this holy land to appreciate the picturesque plateau view and the sacred Buddhist culture. So no matter the dinning or the accommodation or shopping, all will cost you a lot. If you like jollification, then come in July and August, otherwise November is also okay to travel in Tibet. You can witness more snow mountains and large-superficial glaciers in winter.
When you travel to Tibet, bring some little gifts with you like pensils, notebooks, ball pens, biscuit and sweet etc...These things are very precious and welcomed by the local children, can build up a nice relationship between you and the local Tibetans.
In front of Potala Palace Square and the Jokhang Temple Square, you might encounter some young beggers. Never be kind-hearted. Ignore them, otherwise you will be trapped by a crowd of little beggers and couldn''t escape. Really a big trouble, which might ruin your nice holiday.
You may be not used to the food in Tibet or blocked on the road during your travelling, so bring some snacks like choc, jerk, preserved pickle, etc... chew-gum is also very helpful to relieve the headache.
The ultraviolet radiation is very strong in Tibet, you''d better not wear the short-sleeve frock and pants. A sweater or jacket is the must. If you plan to visit Mt. Everest and Northern Tibetan area, then feather-plump clothes is necessary.

My husband and I am just back home from Lhasa, i want to give some suggestions to the people who would like to visit Lhasa. Everyone knows that Lhasa is a very special area in China, and some travelers can not acclimatize the high altitude, i am one of them. So please never ever try to do any strenuous exercises there, such as running, climbing. which are really very dangerous. It's necessary for you to discuss this with your doctors before you take a tour in Lhasa.
