Tips: Most Hong Kong residents are proficient in English and the English-language signposts are found everywhere. The easiest way of getting around is by taxi. If you are eager to starting shopping when you arrive, take a 10 minute walk from your hotel to Nathan Road where offers various shopping centers. The ladies' market, located in the Mong Kok district is a great bargains and has a wide selection of inexpensive accessories and clothes. It is open from 13: 00 to 23: 00 everyday.
Hong KongDay 02Hong Kong
Breakfast is provided at your hotel this morning. We suggest you take the half day Hong Kong Island Tour in the morning. Take the peak tram to the mid-level of Central District, then to the Victoria Peak. You can also visit the Repulse Bay, Aberdeen and Stanley Market if you wish, where you can get a host of souvenirs, garments, sportswear and accessories at cheap prices.(B)
Tips:
1. The best way to get around Hong Kong is to purchase an Octopus Card (Ba Tong Da). You can find it at any subway station or at the airport. This card can take you everywhere. It can also be used on any public transportation system, except taxies. You can even use it to pay for goods in some shops. If you prefer cash to Octopus Card, please prepare some change since buses need exact change.
2. The overall law and order situation in Hong Kong is very good, so it is safe if you plan a night trip. Just make sure that you have a piece of paper with your hotel name and address on it, preferably in Cantonese and English. Furthermore, carry your identification document (passport, for instance) with you all the time since it is illegal if you don't have.Day 03Hong Kong - Guangzhou
Free morning. You can easily buy your train tickets from Hong Kong to Guangzhou at the railway station. We recommend that you take the afternoon express train. Our guide will pick you up at Guangzhou railway station and transfer you back to your hotel. Breakfast is included, while lunch and dinner are on your own.(B)

Visit the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the Five Ram Statue, the Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family, Qingping Market and the Shamian Island.(B+L)

Take a morning flight to Lhasa where the altitude is 3,650 meters above sea level. Transfer to the hotel and allow yourself the afternoon to acclimatize to the high altitude . Lunch is not included. Dinner is served at your hotel.(B+D)
Tips: Rising to the high altitude suddenly, you may get high altitude sickness at the outset. Don't worry. Take a good rest and will relieve it gradually. Due to the high altitude sickness, you may have no appetite. We suggest you prepare some fruits in advance or buy some after your arrival. As the air on the highland is thin, you'd better not walk too fast or do any strong exercise. If you still feel uncomfortable, you may ask the hotel for an oxygen bottle and pay on spot. The rate is RMB35 per jar and RMB120 per cylinder. Under this circumstance, you'd better not take shower this evening and keep the window open while sleeping at night.
Day 06Lhasa
Visit the Tibet Museum and the Carpet Factory. After a western-style lunch, you will visit the Sera Monastery and the Norbulingka Park. An a la carte dinner will be arranged for you at the best local Sichuan cuisine restaurant.(B+L+D)
Tibet Museum - Covering an area of 5.4 hectares, with one hectare of exhibition area, the Tibet Museum is one of the sixty-two “Aid-Tibet Projects” listed in July 1994. It was opened when China celebrated its 50th birthday and coincided with the 40th anniversary of Tibetan Democratic Reform.
Carpet Factory - In the factory, you can see hundreds of experienced weavers using the old-styled vertical looms weaving carpets. All these elegant and colorful carpets are hand-made, different in size, style and pattern. The productions are exported worldwide. Tibetan Carpets, Persian Carpets and Oriental Artistic Carpets are crowned as the best in the world.

Visit the magnificent Potala Palace. After a western-style lunch, we move on to the Jokhang Temple, the thriving bazaar of the Barkhor Street and the Tibetan Traditional Medicine Hospital. Dinner is served at your hotel.(B+L+D)
Tips: During peak tourist season, Potala Palace only has limitated admission to tourists , so admission tickets really need to be purchased a day in advance. Clients who visit Tibet independently, ie. without a tour operator, often have difficulty gaining entry to Palace since tickets are always in great demand. However, if you've booked your tour with a travel agency, they should obtain the tickets for you in advance. Please remember to remove your hats and sun glasses to before entering Potala Palace in order to show respect to Buddha and please do remember to tour clockwise. Please do not step on the doorsill and do not smook anywhere in or around the Palace. It is also expressly forbidden to take photographs inside the Palace. After your tour of the Palace, we therefore suggest you take photographs of it from Potala Palace square. If you prefer a more panoramic view, there is a hill on the southwest side of the palace but it is quite steep and not suitable for the elderly or those who have trouble walking.

Potala Palace - Besides the grand architecture, the Potala Palace is also known for its rich collections. Among them, the most important ones are the luxurious holy stupas where lay the remains from the fifth to the thirteenth Dalai Lamas (except the cashiered the Sixth Dalai Lama). These stupas are all made up of the top, the vase and the pedestal, wrapped in golden cover and enchased with precious stones. The holy stupa of the Fifth Dalai Lama, measuring 14.85 meters (48.7 feet) tall, is said to have cost 110,000 taels of gold, 104 million taels of silver and over 15,000 precious stones, agates and pearls.
Jokhang Temple - Located in the central area of Lhasa City in Tibet, the Jokhang Temple is one of the national cultural relic protection units of China. As a Tibetan Buddhist temple, the Jokhang Temple has an unrivaled status in the Tibetan Buddhism. In the year 2000, it was listed as one of the World Cultural Heritages. A notable Lama of the temple says that 'No visit to the Jokhang Temple equals to no visit to Lhasa,' which is agreed by many visitors traveling there.
Barkhor Street - Traveling in Lhasa, the Barkhor Street is also a nice attraction for you to visit. It maybe a fantastic place for you to go shopping. Varied stores and thousands of stalls on the street sell the prayer wheels, Tibetan traditional clothes, Tibetan knives and some other religious articles.Day 08Lhasa - Gyangtse
Transfer to Gyangtse. Stop off at the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. Visit the Palkhor Monastery and Gyangtse Old Street. Check in at your hotel, where dinner is served.(B+L+D)
Descriptions:
Palkhor Monastery - a significant Tibetan monastery which is structurally different to others as it blends three sects of Tibetan Buddhism: the Sakyapa Sect, the Kadampa Sect and the Gelugpa Sect. The monastery boasts what is believed to be the best example of a stupa (the mound where holy relics are kept) as it is completely intact and has never required any restoration.
Gyangtse Old StreetDay 09Gyangtse - Shigatse
Transfer to Shigatse and check in at the hotel. Visit the Tashilunpo Monastery and the New Palace of Panchen. Dinner is served at your hotel.(B+L+D)
Tips:
Tashilhunpo Monastery is a complex maze of many rooms, therefore we recommend that you visit the sights in a particular order. If you stand beside the Buddha Basking Platform, you can look out over the whole monastery and take in a lovely view of Shigatse. The taking of photos is generally very restricted in Tibetan monasteries, but you are permitted to take some photos here by paying an additional fee and obtaining permission from the lamas. There are clear signs inside which detail how much you have to pay for the taking of photos.
