- Wudang Mountain Hiking
Wudang Mountain is also named as Taihe Mountain, Xuanyue Mountain. It is a famous Taoism Resort located in the city of Danjiangkou in Hubei Province. Not only those holding religious belief come here for the appreciation, but also the reputation of home of Martial Arts and summer resort are the attractive factors to beckon more tourists. Wudang Mountain has many high mountains, green forests, and everlasting springs. It has been called No. 1 Celestial Mountain in China. We will lead you there to have the visit.
You can take train from Wuhan to Wudangshan, which takes about 5-6 hours. Most of trains departs from Wuchang railway station. You'd better to choose the morning train and arrive in Wudangshan in the early afternoon. You can have rest in the afternoon and start climbing the next day.
Today the activities include the Prince's Slope, Purple Cloud Palace, South Cliff. Otherwise called Fuzhenguan, the Prince's Slope is on the sides of the Sacred Way. It is elaborately designed and skillfully laid out. It is almost preserved in the original state. The characters of the "Prince's Slope" are engraved on the stele. There is the oldest brick-carved censer and the famous Design - eighteen crossbeams are fixed in one column. Enjoying the nice scenery here is a feast for your eyes. Ever since the ancient time, it has been a busy and crowded place of worship for Taoists. Continue to walk about 7.5 kilometers and you will come to the magnificent Purple Cloud Palace, which is another ancient historic building in best preservation. Historically, it had solemn overall arrangement, exquisite furnishings because it was responsible for praying for royal families. The worshipped godliness and the celestial beings are ablated. All these things consist of a mysterious and metaphysical world. Thanks to the agreeable weather, green cypresses and pinewoods, it is regarded as a Blessed Place. The celebrative activities are held here on every Mar 3rd and Sep 9th. Tonight you will live in the 3-star hotel in the Mountain.
On the third day, your leisure trip on Wudang Mountain continues. Taking the cable car to the top of highest peak Tianzhu to reach the Golden Peak, which is the essence and symbol of Wudang Mountain. It is the largest extant brass cast building in China. It is in the style of wooden structured buildings with double-eaved roof. The ridge of the Palace is ornamented with gods, men, birds and animals in vividness. Suffering from the natural erosion and weathering for more than five hundred years, the palace is still goldenly striking and considered as a bright pearl among the numerous Chinese architectures. When standing on top of the Golden Hall and overlooking around, you will be charged with the feeling that the mountain is just like a huge green screen standing erectly in nature, while humans are so tiny and oblivious. Have a tour to the Chaobai Temple, Taihe Palace, Zhuanyun Temple and Mozhen Well respectively. Afterwards, take train back to Wuhan.
