Nepal in Depth

When you arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the reserved hotel. After some rest in the hotel, we'll start with visits to Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa.

The Kathmandu Durbar Square is surrounded with royal palaces, temples and other spectacular architectures, showcasing the Newar art from 16th to 19th century. The Swayambhunath Stupa is popularly known as 'Monkey Temple'. The both sides of the stone steps are the paradise of the monkeys. If you have some food in hand, monkeys may approach you, but please be careful with them and avoid being hurt.

After breakfast, we will start by visiting Patan Durbar Square including Golden Temple, the Pashupatinath Temple and the Boudhanath Stupa.

The Patan Durbar Square is one of the three Durbar Squares in Kathmandu valley. Surrounded by royal palaces, shrines and courtyards, this Newa architecture is well worth your visiting. Religion plays an important role in Nepalese's life, especially in art and architecture. The Pashupatinath Temple is the holiest Hindu temple and the Bodhanath Stupa is the largest Buddhist stupa architecture in the world.

Today we will drive about 5 hours to Bandipur, a Newar town with its age-old flavor still intact, which is in midway on the day-long drive between Kathmandu and Pokhara. Upon arrival, you will check in at the hotel and have the rest day free to explore the village with company of your guide.

Today we will leave Bandipur for Pokhara. On the way, you will visit an interesting place - the Siddha Gupha (cave), which is one of the biggest cave in Nepal and lies in the place called Bimal Nagar. 

On arrival in Pokhara, we will assist you to check in at the hotel. After refreshment, the exciting boating trip to Phewa Lake waits for you. The Phewa Lake is the second largest lake in Nepal and it is famous for its reflection of mountains and peaks on its surface. You can spend some time at leisure around the lake side.

Today, our 3-day Dhampus Sarangkot trekking tour begins. As the best easy trekking route in Pokhara, it allows travelers to appreciate panoramic view of Annapurna mountain ranges and the view of Pokhara valley in a very short time. After having breakfast at the hotel, we firstly drive for half an hour to Phedi, where our trekking route starts. From here we hike 2-3 hours to Dhampus (1750 meters) through golden rice terraces, magnificent rhododendron forest, and passing through beautiful Brahmin and Chettri villages. Dhampus offers unobstructed view of Annapurna Himalayan Range and Machhapuchare. You will stay here for a night at the local teahouse.

Get up early to enjoy sunrise and mountains views from Dhampus, then have breakfast and head towards Sarangkot (1540 meters). Along the way, we will cross a bridge over GhatteKhola River, pass through beautiful village Naudanda, and have great views of the Himalayan ranges including Annapurna (8091 meters), Manaslu (8165 meters.), Dhaulagiri (8167m meters), Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and many other dazzling mountains over 6000 meters high. Except for the stunning natural beauties, the friendly local residents you met and local people's farmyards you passed by will add more joys to your walking. Stay in Sarangkot for one night.

Sarangkot is one of top 5 places to witness sunrise in Nepal. You do not want to miss the stunning sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range from Sarangkot view point this morning. Then, our Dhampus Sarangkot trek comes to an end as long as we trek down to Pokhara for about 2 hours. After reaching Pokhara, we continue to visit the World Peace Stupa, Gupteswor Mahadev Cave, Devi's Fall (also called Patale Chhango), International Mountain Museum and Seti gorge. Dinner is arranged at the hotel followed by a brilliant cultural show.

Today we will drive you to Tansen, also called Palpa, a small town sprawling over a ridge in western Nepal. The narrow and winding alleys in the town center were lined with many Newari houses and temples. The nearby Srinagar offers a panoramic view of high Himalayas. You will stay overnight at the hotel in Tansen.

This morning, we will continue driving to Lumbini, which is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal and the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The road twists and turns to Lumbini make the whole driving very thrilling and exciting. After arrival, rest a while in the hotel. Then the guide will lead you to visit the Lumbini Garden. There are a number of temples including the Queen Mayadevi Temple, Ashokan Pillar and many monasteries recently built by the different countries.

Today we move forward to the Chitwan National Park. Covering an area of 932 square kilometers, this park now stands as a successful natural conservation in Asia. It is a great habitat for rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger and many other endangered species of mammals, birds and aquatic lives.

We will arrange you the Bird Watching tour in the morning. After breakfast, drive to Daman, a village at an altitude of 2,400 meters, which probably has the most grandeur view of Mount Everest. Along the winding roads up to the village, a stretch of the Rhododendron flowers scatter over the hillside in spring, just like the whole slope is in fire. After lunch, continue to Chandragiri Hill, where you can take the cable car to the hill top and have a wonderful bird's eye view of the Kathmandu city and the surrounding mountains. The Sunset view from hotel itself is the most interesting one. Check in at hotel Chandragiri Hills Resort to spend a night.

Getting up early this morning, so as to admire the beautiful sunrise view. After breakfast, transfer to cable car station and back to ground station where your guide will be waiting for you to transfer to Nagarkot. Check in at hotel and the rest day is free for you to relax and having a scenic view of Himalayas. Also just to remind, do not miss the beautiful view of sunset over the mountains at dusk.

Early in the morning, you can witness the sunrise over the Himalayas from the hotel view point. After enjoying the breakfast, you are scheduled to visit the ancient township of Bhaktapur, which is 15 km east of Kathmandu, including Bhaktapur Durbar Square & Dattatreya Temple. It once was the capital city during the great Malla kingdom and is famous for its best preservation of ancient and mediaeval arts and architecture. After visiting, transfer you back to Kathmandu and check in the hotel.
