Day 1 Kandy - Trincomalee
Please find your own way to Kandy Bus Station, which is located in the downtown area. There are clear directions on the destination board. You could easily find the correct bus to take. The Bus No. 45 is to Trincomalee, which is available each hour from 4:50 to 18:45. The ticket is LKR430 per person. The whole journey takes about 5.5 hours with the stopover in Dambulla and Sigiriya, where passengers could have a rest to use the washroom or buy some food if needed. In Sigiriya, you could view and take the photo of the famous Lion Rock from a distance. The best time to visit Trincomalee is from May to October, when there is light wind and the sea is relatively calm with a high visibility. It is very suitable to go surfing or snorkeling. You will arrive in Trincomalee at noon. When you at the bus station, you could buy the tickets to the next destination in advance. After getting out of the bus station, take a Tuktuk to your hotel - the Lobster Inn with a cost of LKR200. This hostel is only about 150 meters away from the sea. So after checking in, you could go to the beach to enjoy the sea. Then you could walk about 20 minutes to the famous Uppuveli Beach. Or you could take the Tuktuk with a cost of LKR200. This is said to be the most beautiful place in Sri Lanka, where has the charming scenery with clear beach. Enjoy yourself this afternoon.

Day 2 Trincomalee
Another famous beach is Nilaveli. You could take the public bus No. 900 from the bus station to Nilaveli with a ticket of LKR40 per person. If you take the Tuktuk, the cost is around LKR700. The notable Pigeon Island is located about 2km off the coast of Nilaveli. It is an island surrounded by coral reefs. As there are many rock pigeons here, it got its name Pigeon Island. In addition, there are more than 100 kinds of corals, 300 kinds of tropical fish and turtles lived here. The island is surrounded by the fascinating coral reefs, which made it a good place for snorkeling and diving. Trincomalee is also a good place to watch dolphins and whales. All hotels can make the relevant arrangement. Usually the tour starts at 6:00 a.m.. As for the price, you could bargain. The average cost is around LKR3000 per person. You may take some carsickness medicine in advance in order to avoid the seasick.

In the afternoon, walk from the bus station towards southeast along Konesar Road, you could get to Frederick fort. It is a free scenic spot with a history of 350 years. In the fort, you could visit the Indian temple, Gokana temple, Swami Rock and Shiva Temple. Swami Rock is the highest point in the fort. When you visit the fort, you could see the sika deer and peacock from time to time. Next you could visit the Velgam Temple. There is no bus available there. So you could take the Tuktuk with a fare of LKR200 for round-way. It is also free and it is a Buddhism temple.
Day 3 Trincomalee
Walk along the road on the left side of the bus station, you will get to the fish market. If you want to see the lively fish market, you are advised to get up early at about 5 - 6 o'clock. Then take the Tuktuk to visit an Indian temple - Girihandu Seya. Afterwards, you could go to visit the World War II Cemetery on the east side of Nilaveli Road. In the afternoon, you could take the bus to Kanniya Hot Kovil. The bus is available every 30 minutes from the bus station and the ticket is LKR20 per person. The water here is regarded as divine water that can cure all diseases by the local Tamils. Many people come here from all parts of Sri Lanka every year. After the tour ends, you could go back to your hotel or just head to your next destination by bus or train. There are overnight coaches to Colombo at 22:00 and the ticket is LKR600 per person. You could also take the bus to Jaffna or other cities in south of Sri Lanka.
