Welcome to join the one-day Beijing architecture tour. In the morning, your professional guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at about 09:00. Then the tour will start with a visit to Tiananmen Square. It is the center of capital Beijing. There are many well-known landmark buildings standing on and beside the square, such as the Monument to the People's Heroes, Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, Great Hall of the People and the Tiananmen Tower with a large Chairman Mao's portrait on the wall and which is the place where the foundation of PRC was announced to the world.

Then we will extend the Beijing day tour to NCPA - the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Located to the west of Tiananmen Square, it is now the largest theater complex in Asia. French architect Paul Andreu personally directed the design of the NCPA which is even more popular with the name of the "Giant Egg", for its unique egg-like architectural image. After that, your guide will accompany you to visit the world’s largest and most well-preserved ancient wooden palace complex - Forbidden City. Lunch is arranged on your own and you may taste some local food you like. Surely, your guide will be ready to help.

After a short lunch break, we will continue our Beijing architecture tour to the 798 Art District, the famous international art center developed from an old factory area. There are now many art galleries, creative street artworks, featured restaurants and bars, design companies and art studios of different styles located. Later, we will show you around the Beijing Olympic Park, where you will view the distinctive architecture including Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. They are both the main stadiums of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. We will not go inside but leave you more time to appreciate their highlights, the unique appearances. At the end of the Beijing architecture tour, we will escort you back to your hotel.

National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA)
Totally, the whole building occupies an area of about 12 hectares (29 acres) and mainly consists of three performing venues, two underwater corridors, an underground parking zone and a large artificial lake. The three performing venues including the Opera House, Concert Hall and Theatre are all equipped with world-class audiovisual systems and each of them has their own distinguishing features. The external oval shell and its reflection in the lake bring a powerful visual shock to viewers. Also, it is the deepest building in Beijing, and the deepest point of it can reach down as far as 32.5 meters (36 yards), which is equivalent to the height of a 10-storey building.

Forbidden City
Forbidden City, also called the Palace Museum, is the largest wooden palace complex in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911) had lived. Covering an area of 72 hectares (178 acres), it has over 70 palaces and about 9,000 rooms. The magnificent palaces with exquisite carvings and complicate royal patterns fully show the supreme position and authoritative power of the emperors. They are the representative work of traditional Chinese architecture.
