 Beijing - Bengbu: This section shares the railway track with Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Train, which was put into use on June 30th, 2011. The travel time along this section is about 3.5 - 4 hours.

 Bengbu - Hefei: This section has been in operation since October 16th, 2012. It takes about 45 - 65 minutes to complete the journey.

 Hefei - Fuzhou: This section has been in service since June 28th, 2015, shortening the rail travel time to 3.5-4.5 hours. After being opened, most high speed trains to/from Hefei has been transferred to South Railway Station from the previous Hefei Railway Station. Along this Hefei-Fuzhou section, there are many popular attractions, such as Yellow Mountain, Wuyuan (reputed to be the 'Most Beautiful Countryside in China'), Mt. Wuyi, and Mt. Sanqingshan. Its operation has brought great convenience for travelers to these sites. In addition, operation of Hefei-Fuzhou section has connected Shanghai, Xiamen and Nanchang with the above attractions via previously opened high speed rail lines.

Along the way, there are a number of famous attractions, including time-honored architecture, and breathtaking natural scenery. The section between Hefei and Fuzhou is even praised as the 'most beautiful high speed railway' for its beautiful landscapes one after another.

All of them are operated between Beijing Railway Station/West Railway Station and Fuzhou Railway Station. If you want to travel by normal speed trains, Z59/Z60 are recommended as they take shorter time, about 20 hours compared with K45/K46 taking 35 hours. You are advised to purchase a soft sleeper or hard sleeper berth for such a long journey. The sleeper tickets should be booked in advance as they are always in great demands. The beautiful scenery along the way may give you some comfort, but you’d better download some videos or bring some snacks to kill the time as well.

Beijing – Fuzhou Train vs. Flight

Beijing to Fuzhou flight takes about 3 hours for a single journey, which is a good choice for those who travel in a hurry, but it usually costs more than a rail trip. Also, flight delays occurring in bad weather or during air traffic control may affect your travel plan.

High speed train is more punctual than flight. Also, its ticket is generally cheaper than a flight ticket. Beijing – Fuzhou High Speed Railway is praised as one of the 'most beautiful high speed railways', so the scenery along the way can be a good enjoyment, too.
