Colombia Coffee Tour

Upon landing, you will meet the guide and the driver at Bogota airport. After a warm welcome, they will send you to the hotel. Then it will be your leisure time. As the graffiti in Bogota are well known, you may go out to see these excellent art on street walls.

At first we will go to Mount Monserrate and reach its top by cableway. It is the mountain where we would enjoy a panoramic view of Bogota city. Next, we'll have a tour in La Candelaria, the old city area of Bogota with many colonial buildings. We will see The Republic Congress, The Justice Palace, The Cathedral Primada and other architecture, and get to Plaza de Bolivar, the memorial square of Bolivar - the leader of Latin America's independence. After that, we'll walk to Museo de Botero, the art museum displaying the works of the national artist Botero; and Gold Museum (Museo del Oro) full of Incan gold wares.

In the morning, we will drive for about 1.5 hours to visit Laguna de Guatavita, the legendary lake that was said to be the location of great treasures. We'll hike to the lake after getting off the car, so comfortable costumes are the necessities. There is much rain at the lake area, so a raincoat is also recommended. Then we will go to Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá, an-hour drive away. Located 180m (590.6 feet) deep below the ground, Salt Cathedral was constructed with the salt rocks in the mine, and is a rare architecture around world.

We'll send you to Bogota airport afterwards for you to get to Armenia by plane. At Armenia airport, you'll be picked up by the local guide and the driver and sent to hotel.

Today, we will go on the trip to Cocora Valley. We are to go hiking in this natural reserve, to enjoy the green valley and breathe fresh air. Be sure to wear a pair of comfortable shoes. The towering wax palms, the Colombia national tree, are also an attraction in the valley. Then we're going to drive to Filandia, to visit the coffee town with coffee farms and multi-colored houses.

The guide and the driver will accompany you to the coffee farm Hacienda San Alberto to start today's Colombia coffee tour. Upon arrival after about one hour's drive, we will learn the different tastes of different kinds of Colombian coffee, and the entire process of making coffee from growing the coffee plants, harvesting the coffee beans, and coffee processing. There, you can also pick coffee beans in person.

After the trip today, you'll be transferred to Armenia airport for flying to Cartagena, a coastal city along the Caribbean Sea. On arrival, transfer to the hotel booked in advance by the guide and the driver based locally.

Today, we're going to visit Walled City, San Felipe Castle and Convento de La Popa on foot. Walled City is the Spanish-style old city with many colonial heritages. San Felipe Castle was built to defeat enemies and pirates; it is famous for the tunnels. Convento de La Popa, the 17th-century monastery, was well designed with a courtyard full of flowers. We'll also visit the cobble streets and colored houses.

After being transferred to the port of Cartagena, our guide will escort you to Islas del Rosario by boat to have fun on white beaches or go snorkeling in the sea. The boat ride is about 45 minutes. We'll also marvel at the large stretches of coconut woods, the endless reefs underwater, and the shoals of tropical fishes. After the tour, send you back to the hotel.
