Costa Rica Vacation with Puerto Viejo

Welcome to Costa Rica! When you arrive at San Jose International Airport (Juan Santamatia International Airport), you will see our driver waiting for you at Arrival Hall. Then he will transfer you to the hotel. After checking in, you can hang out by yourself in the city center or have a good rest in the hotel to recover from the long flight.

Today, your driver will take you to a small town, where you can admire Arenal Volcano. The whole journey is 147 km and will spend us around 3 hours. On the way to La Fortuna town, we will arrange you a driver guided tour to visit the Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens. And you will also take a Coffee tour at Doka Coffee Plantation to learn about the working process, picking, cleaning, baking, grinding. After that, the driver will transfer you to La Fortuna and check in the hotel.

Today we will explore Arenal Volcano National Park and Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridge Park. After breakfast, we will have an adventure of Hanging Bridge tour, you can look for a variety of birds and flora. In the afternoon, we will go to visit Arenal Volcano, the most active and famous volcano in Costa Rica. Then go to Arenal Lake and La Fortuna Waterfall. In the evening, enjoy the hot spring in Tabacon Spring to relax.

We will transfer from La Fortuna to Tortugueio by car after breakfast. The whole journey is about 210 km. After 2 hours private transfer by driver we will get to Guapiles region, then take shared bus and boat arranged by lodge for another 3 hours to arrive for check in. After lunch, visit Tortuguero village and the Turtle Museum in group.

In the morning, we will visit Tortuguero National Park by boat through Tortuguero Canal and looking for a variety of wildlife, and admiring the endemic vegetation and picturesque forest landscape. In the afternoon, we will follow the guide to hike in the jungle to admire the forest from a different perspective. In the evening, if in July to October, we recommend you to take a tour of watching green turtles nest and lay their eggs (this charge is on your own).

Today you will head to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca with driver with the whole journey of 220 km. Firstly, you need to take the boat and bus arranged by your lodge back to Guapiles region for around 3 hours. Then our private driver will pick up you there and transfer around 2 hours to the destination. You can arrange the rest time of the day on your own after checking in.

Today we will join in a group tour and start by snorkeling at Cahuita National Park. The professional equipment includes masks, fins and breather pipe. Accompanied by the captain and the tour guide, board a 12-person boat and then snorkel for about two hours to appreciate Costa Rica's most important coral reef. 

Then we will take an unforgettable hike in Cahuita National Park, where you will have the opportunity to see a variety of snakes, sloths, white-faced howler monkeys, anteaters, armadillos and other animals. After lunch, we'll take you back to your hotel. You can move freely in the rest of the day.

You can arrange your time in this morning: admire the sunrise or hang out around the hotel. In the afternoon, we will return to San Jose Hotel by private driver, which will take around 4 hours with the journey of 215 km.

Today is the last day of our Costa Rica private tour. According to your flight schedule, the hotel free shuttles will transfer you to Juan Santamaria International Airport. May you have a great flight home!
