Day 1 Cairo - Bahariya Oasis - Black Desert
The public buses from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis are available every morning. They will depart from the El Turgoman Bus Station (also called the Cairo Gateway Bus Station), and the distance of 370 km (230 miles) will take you about 5 hours. The ticket costs 120 EGP for foreigners holding passport. The earliest bus will leave Cairo at 07:00am, so arriving at the station before 06:30 will be good.
Warm Tip: The local bus drivers are used to turning on their sound system loud while driving. If you prefer to have a quite journey, ask for a seat away from any of the speakers when you buy the ticket.
Around 13:00, you will arrive at the bus station of Bawiti town. Bawiti is the largest town in the Bahariya Oasis, where there are lots of hotels and travel agencies. Both can arrange the overnight camping to the Black and White Deserts. You can talk to them, get some quotes and make a detailed comparison of the inclusions and exclusions to find the best deal.
Warm Tip: Generally speaking, the drivers of the camping tour will prepare a sleeping bag for each participant, but if you are concerned about hygiene, remember to prepare a private sleeping bag in advance.
Before setting off to the deserts, you can have a late lunch in the town. The first stop is the Black Desert. The ancient Sahara Desert was once an ocean, and the Black Desert is located in an area of submarine volcanic belt, those remained volcanic eruptions of the black material forming the Black Desert. Afterwards, continue to the Crystal Mountain in the Agabat Valley nearby the White Desert. Those glittering crystal walls make it a wonderful place for photos.
In the evening, you will get to today’s destination, the campsite of the White Desert. You can find a tall dune to enjoy a stunning sunset while the drivers start to prepare for dinner. At around 20:00, dinner is ready, which usually includes rice, chicken, bread, bananas, soft drinks and vegetable salad. After dinner, you can enjoy the starry night which can be a lifelong memory and a climax of this tour.

Day 2 White Desert - Cairo
Get up at 05:00am if you intend to watch the sunrise. For the exact time of the sunrise, please double confirm with your safari driver. After breakfast, you can go hiking around the campsite, do the sand skiing or enjoy nature's masterpiece - the white mushroom rocks formed by wind erosion.
After that, you will be transferred back to Bawiti town and your desert safari will end here. The public bus from Bawiti to Cairo will leave at 14:00. If you plan to get back to Cairo on the same day, please inform your safari driver of your schedule in advance so that you can return to Bawiti in time to catch the bus.![White Desert]()
