Finland & Norway Highlights

This Norway and Finland group tour will start from the Gateway to the Arctic - Tromsø in Norway. On your arrival, please check into the hotel on your own. We will book the hotel for you in advance and inform you how to get there from the airport. Then you'll be free to explore this city as you like in the remaining day. Tromsø was a crucial stop for Arctic adventures, and the statue of famous explorer Roald Amundsen stands at the wharf till now. You may stroll to enjoy the fine wooden houses on sides of streets, or try the excellent cuisine at a local restaurant.

The Arctic Cathedral can never be missed. Constructed in 1965, it is a masterpieces of the post-modern art. Going through the cathedral, you could take Fjellheisen cable car to the mountain top. Overlooking from the mountain top, the Arctic Cathedral seems to be a bright star, eye-catching and beautiful. At the appointed time at night, please go to meet your tour leader and other group members.

After breakfast, we'll have a guided walking tour, to visit the highlights in Tromsø. In the afternoon, board the cruise ship for a coastal voyage trip. A big dinner will be served onboard during the cruise. On the deck or through the glass roof, it is very likely to see the incredible northern lights. Stay overnight on the cruise.

The cruise will sail through Magerøysund and arrive at Honningsvåg at 70° 58' N. You could get off the cruise, to see the colorful houses lying at the port, and the fantastic landscapes of North Cape. Standing atop the North Cape Plateau, you could see the charming scenery that you cannot find in any other place. At the same time, the various birds make Honningsvåg famous as well. After, go back to the cruise and continue sailing forward.

Today, via Vadsø, we'll get to the last port of this cruise, Kirkenes. As it's close to the Russian border, the signposts are in both Norwegian and Russian. After disembarking from the ship, the local fishermen will take you for a king crab safari on the snowmobile. Of course, the warm clothes and helmet will be handed out for you beforehand. You will get a chance to learn how to catch and cook king crabs. Then the big event will come - enjoy the delicious and freshest king carbs!

After the hearty lunch, we'll check in Gamme cabin of the Snow Hotel. Free afternoon for you. At night, the 3-course dinner will be served in the hotel. Following the dinner, you can catch the aurora borealis out the hotel.

After breakfast, we will go across the national border, original forests and lakes by car to Inari, Finland. After having lunch on arrival, we are going to visit Sami Siida Museum, where the traditional culture and custom of local Sami people in Lapland Region are presented. Afterwards, we'll head to Aurora Village in the north of Finland, the farther northern place in the Arctic Circle. We will spend 3 nights in the glass roofed Aurora Cabin there, meanwhile you'll get a set of winter clothes, including winter boots, balaclavas, woolen socks, mittens, overalls, and tube scarf. The glass-roofed cabin will provide you a unique experience to see the northern lights indoors.

It will be an exciting day to start from a reindeer safari. After, you could get refreshed in the traditional Kota-tent, to drink tea or coffee; and the Sámi-reindeer herder will tell you all the information about reindeer. You can witness a number of reindeer and learn more about the cute creature. Then we'll have another breathtaking activity - snowmobile safari. Wearing thermal clothes, we can go for a drive on the snow land. After dinner, we can also dance under the mysterious northern lights, with bright stars twinkling in the night sky.

Today, you will get a wonderful sledging experience with friendly and lively Husky dogs. If you're interested in driving the sledge, you may change place with the driver. In the afternoon, you'll have an opportunity to meet the Santa, and take pictures with him. Farewell dinner will be served tonight, to toast for our memorable holiday.
