Northern Lights Chasing

When you get off the plane at Helsinki airport, please go to the hotel on your own, which is very centrally located. If it's early after you settling down, you could have a stroll around. Helsinki is rated as one of the most habitable cities with many artistic old architecture.

A Helsinki bus tour which includes almost all highlights of this charming city will be arranged for you today. We will inform you the meeting point and departure time in advance. Please get there on time. With the audio guide in multiple languages, you'll see the City Hall, Presidential Palace, Senate Square, Parliament Building, Diplomatic Headquarters, Finlandia Hall, the Uspenki Cathedral and so on. The bus will have a stop at Temppeliaukion Church if it is open, thus you could visit this church constructed in rocks.

The afternoon is free for you. To the dusk, please reach Helsinki train station on your own to take the overnight train to Rovaniemi.

On arrival in Rovaniemi, our driver will transfer you from the train station to the hotel. After settling down, the rest of this day is free for you to explore this fairy land by yourself.

Please get to the meeting point at 20:30, to join the northern lights trip by bus. We'll get to Lappish wilderness - the best site to see northern lights. You can enjoy the freely dancing lights in the night sky, and glut yourself with local grilled sausages by the campfire. After, go back to downtown and return to the hotel on your own.

After breakfast, the guide will lead you to a reindeer farm by snowmobile. You can learn much information about this creature, and have a reindeer sledding trip across the Arctic Circle. After, get to Santa Claus Village, where you could meet Santa Claus and his elves. After a delicious Lappish lunch, you'll be transferred back to your hotel. Later, we will arrange you a bus ride to Kakslauttanen. Kakslauttanen is also a place you can enjoy the gorgeous northern lights. Check in a traditional log cabin upon arrival.

We will arrange a husky safari for you today. At 10:00 am, the owner of the husky farmer will pick you up from your hotel. Arriving at the farm and wearing the warm clothes, a professional coach will teach you how to drive the husky sled, to make a turn and to stop. Then the friendly huskies will bring you an exciting sledding experience in the white world.

After the husky safari, drink a cup of coffee to calm down, and then you'll be sent back to your hotel. The rest time of the day will be free for you. At 22:55, you will be served a Finnish dinner, while enjoying the miraculous aurora in the glass igloo.

After breakfast, extend this trip to Inari by bus. Inari is a clean and remote area in the north, situated by Lake Inari. It's a perfect place to learn Sami People and their traditional culture. We will arrange you to stay in a local Inari resident's home tonight, where the host and the reindeer live in the wilderness. This home stay offers you a great opportunity to learn more about the local herds, learn to make Sami fur boots, and learn the local life styles.

We will visit Siida - the heart of Sami area after breakfast. The Nature Centre of Metsahallitus and the National Museum of the Finnish Sami will show you more about Sami people and Lapland. Afterwards, take a bus to Rovaniemi, where you could connect an overnight train back to the capital city Helsinki.
