Georgia in Depth

You are supposed to land in Tbilisi Airport today. Upon landing, our local guide will pick you up on time and transfer you to the hotel. You are free the remaining of the day.

Today, this Georgia 2 weeks tour will start with Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi. Then, the guide will lead you to visit Assumption Church, statue of the King Vakhtang I Gorgasali - the founder of Georgia, the Bridge of Peace, and the Rike Park. Next, we are going to learn the daily life of locals at Meidan Square and appreciate a small waterfall in downtown - Leghvtakhevi. The next stop will be sulfuric baths, where you may have a try. Later, ascend the Narikala Fortress on the hilltop by cable car to have a look of the whole Tbilisi. The last sightseeing stop of today will be Chardin Street.

After breakfast, the guide will pick you up from the hotel and head to Ananuri Fortress by Zhinvali Reservoir. The fortress is a masterpiece of Georgian buildings. Then appreciate the charming mountain scenery at Gudauri Resort Town. Following, drive to Gergeti Church with a stop at the Sour Waters of Vedza. Gergeti Church, the next stop at an altitude of 2,200 meters (7,200 feet) will must impress you because of not only the church itself, but also the surrounding scenery. At the end of the day, send you to a hotel in Kazbegi.

We are firstly going to Juta Village today. This quiet village is the highest dwelling in Europe. Then, return back to Tbilisi. On the way, we will make several stopovers. The first one will be Mtskheta. Once being the capital of Georgia, it has many historical relics. The second one will be Jvari Monastery on a high slope and you are able to have a bird’s eye view of Mtskheta there. The last one before getting back to Tbilisi will be a world cultural heritage - Svetitskhoveli Temple.

Today will be a highlight as we are going to the famous wine production region of the country - Kakheti. At first, the guide will accompany you to Nekresi Monastery Complex to admire the Alazani Valley afar. Then go to Kvareli Tunnel to visit the famous wine making factory - Khareba, taste wine and learn to make Georgian bread - shoti and its national sweet - churchkhela. Next, we will go to Telavi known for its beautiful scenery and a 900-year-old tree. Finally, pay a visit to the Batonis Tsikhe Fortress built in Middle Century and go to check in at a hotel in Kakheti.

The first stop we are going to visit today will be Tsinandali Estate collecting lots of wine making in Georgia and Europe. Then move on to Sighnaghi known as "City of Love" which has many ancient buildings. Next, visit Bodbe Monastery and go back to Tbilisi.

After breakfast, we will drive to Uplistsikhe Cave Town. It is located on a rocky hill and all houses here are carved out on the cliff. Then, pay a visit to Stalin Museum in Gori which displays Stalin's former residence, private train and personal items. When today's sightseeing will be ended here, the guide will transfer you to a hotel in Kutaisi and help you check in.

Today's itinerary will start at Gelati Monastery. It consists of three churches and is decorated with delicate murals themed on Christianism. Then, go to visit the Motsameta Monastery located by a cliff; standing there, you will be able to have a look of the Ckalcitela River. At last, take a ship to cruise in the scenic Martvili Canyon. Go back to the hotel in Kutaisi.

Our first stop to visit today will be Okatse Canyon, where we will admire the highest waterfall in Georgia - Kinchkha and some other nearby waterfalls. The second stop will be Prometheus Cave, a karst cave lit up by many colorful lights. At the end of the day, return to Kutaisi.

Today, we will leave Kutaisi for the next destination - Borjomi. It is one of the most popular travel destinations in Georgia and rich in high quality mineral water. On arrival, taste some local mineral water at the Mineral Water Park. Then continue driving to the next stop - Akhaltsikhe Ancient Town. In Middle Century, the town was the gathering hub of merchants and artists. Then, visit Rabati Fortress combining Islam and Orthodox construction styles. The fortress has two levels: the lower level is a modern area with cafes and restaurants; the upper level is a historical area where you will find Akhmediye Mosque, an Orthodox church, Djakeli Palace, and the History Museum. Transfer you to your hotel.

After breakfast, the guide will lead you to visit the Khertvisi Fortress initially built in the 2nd century. Then go to visit the mysterious Vardzia Cave Monastery. Firstly constructed in 12nd century, the monastery has 6,000 rooms. Till today, there are still a few monks living inside. After, send you back to the hotel.

At first, we will go to Sapara Monastery. It is built by a cliff and surrounded by trees, quiet and beautiful. Then the highlight of the day - Paravani Lake. It is one of the most popular angling sites in the country and some tomb relics of Bronze Ages are buried under it. At last, send you back to Tbilisi and we will serve a farewell dinner there for you.
