Day 1 Arrival in Beijing
Today, you will arrive in Beijing. After reclaiming your luggage and clearing Customs, you will see your guide waiting for you outside, and be taken to the hotel by your driver. During the rest of the day, you can explore this capital city at your own leisurely pace, or relax at the hotel and prepare yourself for tours in the following days.

Day 2 Beijing
After breakfast, you will attend a short meeting with the other group members in the hotel lobby, hosted by the tour guide at about 08:30 a.m. Your guide will give a briefing on your coming Lhasa to Kathmandu tour package, and answer any questions about the trip. Once the meeting is concluded, you will start your guided Beijing tour.

The first stop is Tiananmen Square, located on the center of Beijing. As one of the largest city squares in the world, Tiananmen Square has great significance to Chinese history and revolution. Standing in the Square, you can see the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and the Monument to People's Heroes nearby. Next, we will visit the Forbidden City, once the residence of the royals during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. Besides the splendid structures, you will also see numerous ancient treasures and artworks.

After a morning's exploration, you will be taken to a popular restaurant for an a la carte welcome lunch, which serves authentic Chinese dishes including the famous Peking duck.

In the afternoon, we will go to visit the Temple of Heaven with a history of over 590 years. It is a three-storey wooden altar, where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed annually to the Heaven for good harvests. Then a Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theater will end your Beijing tour for today.

Day 3 Beijing
Mutianyu Great Wall with a round-trip cable car, A toast with red wine on the wall. (B)
In the morning, we will set off to the splendid Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the best-preserved sections of the China Great Wall. The round-trip cable car is arranged for you to ascend and descend the wall. On the Great Wall, you will not only enjoy the view of its splendid structures winding to the boundless sky, but also that of the surrounding verdant countryside. You will enjoy enough time to climb the wall. To celebrate this moment, you will toast with red wine that specially offered by us.

Due to the food and service quality of the nearby restaurants, lunch is not included today. We suggest you eat a big breakfast, and prepare some cookies to replenish energy. Fast food is available there.

Afterwards, we will drive to a local market in the downtown area and leave you with some leisure time for your own exploration.

Day 4 Beijing to Xi'an by Flight
Summer Palace, Olympic Bird's Nest, A la carte lunch, Hutong Rickshaw Tour, Experience Chinese Paper Cutting, Fly to Xi'an, Airport-hotel transfer. (B+L)
After breakfast, we will set out for the Summer Palace, considered the perfect example of a traditional Chinese garden complex. This was the royal garden in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the Summer Palace features traditional buildings, a marble boat and beautiful lakes. After the stroll, we will have a photo stop at the Beijing National Stadium, famous for its unique appearance resembling a Bird's Nest. Then, we will head to a fancy restaurant for an a la carte lunch.

The trip continues in the afternoon as you experience a wonderful rickshaw tour in Hutongs - the narrow alleys formed between the ancient Siheyuans (a traditional type of Beijing residence). You will get close to the authentic lifestyle of the locals and also have a chance to experience the Chinese paper cutting art.

After concluding the Beijing tour, we will escort you to the airport for your flight to Xi'an. On arrival at Xi'an airport, you will be met by your local guide and be taken to your hotel.

Day 5 Xi'an

Today your guided Lhasa Kathmandu tour package comes to Xi'an, which was the capital of China during 13 dynastic periods. In the morning, we will take you to visit the Terracotta Army created 2,200 year ago. Renowned as the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Terracotta Army features thousands of earthenware soldiers, horses and chariots, a representation of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang's army. Today you will see these grand spectacle and learn their history. After admiring this marvel, we then pay a visit to a local family, which will treat you to an authentic home-cooked lunch in a la carte style. You may take the opportunity to take a free cooking class, and cook Chinese dishes with your hostess.

After lunch, our cultural tour continues as we make our way towards the nearby Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a 13-storey pagoda built in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD) and the place where the Buddhist sutras and treasures brought by the Silk Road were stored. A visit to the Xi'an Museum is followed where you can appreciate the various cultural relics. Lastly, you will enjoy a wonderful evening featuring a Tang Dynasty Show with the delicious dumpling dinner.

Day 6 Xi'an to Lhasa by Flight
Fly to Lhasa, Airport-hotel transfer, Acclimatize to the high altitude. (B)
Today we will proceed to the next destination - Lhasa in Tibet. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport, and board your flight. Upon arrival, your local guide will pick you up and then escort you to the hotel. For the remainder of the day, we recommend that you have a good rest and eat in moderation in order to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude.

Day 7 Lhasa
Norbulingka Park, Sera Monastery, Viewing Platform of Yaowang Hill. (B+L)
This morning, we will head to the Norbulingka Park (the Park of Treasure), where the Dalai Lamas used to live in summer. This UNESCO World Heritage site was built in the 7th century. Its 347 well-designed rooms and numerous ancient treasures attract visitors worldwide. The next stop is the Sera Monastery, one of the six major Gelug monasteries in Tibet. Constructed in 1419, Sera Monastery has an abundant collection of cultural relics, Buddhist sculptures and beautiful frescos. Usually, the lamas will have a debate on Buddhist sutras in the courtyard of the monastery. Although we cannot understand the meaning, it is still interesting to see that. At the end of the day, we will go to the Platform of Yaowang Hill to enjoy a picturesque distant view of the Potala Palace.

Day 8 Lhasa
Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, A Nunnery. (B+L)
After breakfast, we will move toward the highlight for today - the Potala Palace, masterly combining fort, palace and temple. This 370-year-old complex is the most prominent representation of the traditional Tibetan architecture, and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. After that, we will proceed to the holiest temple in Tibet - the Jokhang Temple with a history of over 1,350 years. Then we will take a stroll in the nearby Barkhor Street, an iconic religious circumambulation where you will see many ancient Tibetan buildings and gain an insight into the Tibetan culture. Your Tibet to Kathmandu tour package for today will end at the Anitsangkung Nunnery, dating back to the 7th century.

Day 9 Lhasa to Kathmandu by Flight

Today, it is time to make your trip to Nepal. In the morning, we will escort you to Lhasa Airport and help you board the flight to Kathmandu, the capital and the largest city in Nepal. Surrounded by mountains in all directions, Kathmandu, founded in 723, is an ancient city with a history of more than 1,200 years. On arrival, your local guide will pick you up and arrange for you the airport-hotel transfer. The rest of the day is free for your own exploration.

Day 10 Kathmandu - Bhaktapur - Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will drive to Bhaktapur, and our Lhasa to Kathmandu tour will start at a UNESCO World Heritage site - the Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple built in the 17th century. It is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River, a famous cremation site. Next, we will drive to the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the largest square in this well-preserved ancient city of Nepal. Your guide will lead you to visit the iconic Nyatapola Temple rich in exquisite statues of deities and animals; and the 15th-century Dattatreya Temple, built of the timber from a single tree. Lastly, we will head to the Changu Narayan Temple, a Hindu temple located on a high hill. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, which holds many delicate ancient figures. From here, you can also enjoy a distant view of the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 11 Kathmandu - Patan - Kathmandu

Swayambhunath Stupa is today's first stop. With a history of over 2,500 years, this Buddhist temple is not only a popular attraction famous for the monkeys appearing from time to time and its unique structures, but also as a sacred pilgrimage site. Afterwards, we will drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the ancient Newari style buildings. Here we will pay a visit to a Buddhist temple full of religious legends - the Kumari Temple, where you will see the living Goddess. Next, we stop by the Nepal's tallest Hindu temple - Taleju Temple built in 1549, and the Kal Bhairav, popular for the enormous stone sculpture of the Lord Kala Bairav. Then follows the Boudhanath Stupa, a must-see attraction in Nepal. It is a massive Buddhist temple featuring a white hemispheric and a golden spired top, which is decorated with five representative elements of Buddhism. Today's trip will end at the Golden Temple located on the Patan Durbar Square. This 12th-century Buddhist temple will feast your eyes with its gilded structures, fine frescos, and wonderfully sculpted golden statues. Finally, We return to the hotel.

Day 12 Departure from Kathmandu

Today is the last day of our Lhasa to Kathmandu tour package. In the morning, the driver will transfer you to the Kathmandu Airport, where you will board your homebound flight. It has been our pleasure to have you in this group and hope you have had a memorable journey!
