Dead Sea Tour

Welcome to Amman! Upon your arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, our local representative will be waiting at the arrival hall and you will be escorted to the hotel we booked for you at Amman downtown area. Have a good rest after the check-in or you can take a stroll in the city. Amman is the capital city of Jordan and known as the 'White City' because of a cluster of white houses.

After breakfast, our English speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel on schedule and drive you to the first destination - Mount Nebo. It has great religious significance to Christianity, being mentioned in Bible as the place where Moses was granted to overlook the Land of Canaan before his death. It is said that Moses was buried there too. From the summit of the mount, you can catch a panorama of the surrounding landscape. 

Next, we will drive along the King's Highway to Madaba, an ancient town famous for centuries-old churches and well-preserved Byzantine-era mosaics. The renowned Madaba Mosaic Map, made on the floor of the Church of Saint George in the 6th century, is the oldest original and detailed cartographic depiction of the Holy Land surviving in the world. Then we will continue to visit Kerak Castle. It is a massive hilltop crusader fortress dating back to 1142 with fantastic views over surrounding areas. On the way, we will also drive by Wadi Mujib, a spectacular river canyon, and leave you some time to take photos. After the visit to Kerak Castle, we will go on driving to Petra and stay overnight at a guest house there.

Today we will spend the whole morning exploring Petra, once capital of Nabataean Kingdom. The city rose up from cliffs and peaks is also nicknamed the Rose City because of the color of the sandstone. 

Here you will be accompanied by a local English speaking guide during the following 2 or 3 hours to discover the history and prominent rock-cut architecture of the city. You will enjoy a horse riding from the entrance gate to Siq, a narrow gorge winding its way to one of Petra's most impressive temples called Al Khazneh or the Treasure. Al Khazneh, almost 40 meters (130 feet) in height, is entirely carved from the sandstone cliff and elaborately decorated with distinct Hellenistic elements. After the visit to the temple, you can keep on sightseeing in other places nearby by yourself.

In the afternoon, we will go for a 3 hours' car ride to the Dead Sea and check in the nearby hotel. Dead Sea is a marvelous gift from the nature. You could have a good rest and then sightsee the scenic salt lake freely. Floating in the lake while watching the stunning sunset is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Today, our driver will pick you up from the hotel and escort you on an hour's drive to Amman airport according to your flight schedule. Hope you have had a wonderful time during the 4 days Dead Sea tour package.
