The English speaking chauffeur guide will pick you up at the hotel and head to the north of Mauritius in the morning. At the beginning of our Mauritius day trip, we will visit Chateau De Labourdonnais. As an old and quiet manor, it is a good place to learn about the history of Mauritius. The orchard here is well-known, which has 15 kinds of tropical fruits which can be picked by yourself. There is an open-air cafe and castle gift shop that sell rum, candies, jams, green chili sauce, smoothies and honey.

Then, we are going to SSR Botanic Garden (Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens). Built in the 18th century, it is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the southern hemisphere, containing over 80 palm species and nearly 20 species endemic to the Southwest Indian Ocean. The most famous plant in the botanic garden is the giant Amazonian lotus (also known as Victoria amazonica). It is said that the plant can carry the weight of a baby. There are also some unique animals, including Seychelles Giant Tortoises, Indonesia Deer and Madagascar Red-billed Birds.

Next, we will go to the nearby L'Aventure du Sucre. This cane sugar factory was built in 1838 and now is a sugar museum, which carries the history of the cane sugar industry and rum production in Mauritius. The gift shop here sells all kinds of cane sugar, rum and spices. You can also taste unrefined sugar and local rum here. The restaurant inside the museum wins a high popularity, operating from 12:30 to 17:30 every day. You can have lunch here. Or the driver will recommend a suitable restaurant according to your preferences.

In the afternoon, we will drive to Port Louis - the capital of Mauritius. Located on the northwest coast, it is the political, cultural and economic center of the country. We will visit the Central Market firstly in order to experience local life and unique culture. There are a large number of local merchants, Indian, Chinese and African businessmen selling their own distinctive products. In this busy market, you can easily find handmade products, textiles, fruits, tea, spices, cheap jewelry, colorful straw baskets of various shapes, and high-quality rums... In addition, the local leather products such as cowhide bags, leather shoes, and belts all have unique African characteristics.

The next stop is Caudan Waterfront Shopping Center. Here you can purchase clothing, skin care products and local souvenirs. What is worth mentioning among these things is the exquisitely crafted ship model, which becomes one of best home furnishings. Besides, there is an area built up with colorful umbrellas, which is suitable for taking photos.

Finally, we will visit Citadel Fort Adelaide. It is regarded as the best viewing platform of Port Louis, from which you can not only overlook the city panorama, but also appreciate the beauty of Indian Ocean from afar.

At the end of the Mauritius day tour, the driver will send you back to the hotel.
