Norway In A Nutshell

Upon arrival at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, please transfer to the hotel by yourself. We recommend that you take the silver express train to Oslo Central Station. This is the fastest way to travel from the airport to the downtown of Oslo. It takes about 20 minutes. The arrival train station is within walking distance from the hotel we booked for you. If it's early, you can explore the city on your own and taste local delicacies after checking in.

At 18:00, the team leader will greet you at the hotel lobby with welcome drinks and give a brief introduction to this 10 days Norway tour.

This morning, the tour leader and the local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to enjoy the 3 hours' bus tour in Oslo city. First of all, we will visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park which is famed as the most famous building and a must-visit place in Oslo. The next destinations are Royal Palace, Akershus fortress, and City Hall. The bus tour will also lead you to Viking Ship Museum and leave you some free time there. Then, the rest of the day is free for you. Viking Ship Museum is built along the coast. Tourists who want to return to the city center after the tour can take a ferry at the nearby pier.

You need to check out early from the hotel this morning. Then the team leader will accompany you to walk to the Central Station and board the Dovrebanen train to Trondheim. During the 6.5-hour journey, we will pass through the stunning Gudbrandsdalen valley and the spectacular Dovrefjell mountain range.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour to medieval Nidaros Cathedral. It is the most majestic church in Scandinavian Peninsula and also one of the most famous churches in Norway, where the successive kings of Norway have be crowned here. After that, the local guide will meet you and guide you to the city’s landmarks on foot, including Bakklandet. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

After breakfast, we will take the car to the port and board a Hurtigruten cruise ship to start the memorable coastal sailing from Trondheim Fjord. Later in the afternoon, the ship will stop at Kristiansund, and from here we will take a shore excursion for about 4.5 hours with other tourists on the famous Atlantic Road. Atlantic Road is about 8 kilometers long and connects 17 islands with 8 bridges. Endowed with winding and rugged roads and natural beauty, it has been rated as one of the "best sightseeing roads in the world" by the British Guardian. After, enjoy dinner and return to the cruise ship in Molde.

Enjoy the picturesque and beautiful view on the ship deck. At 14:30, the cruise ship will arrive at Bergen, the capital of the Fjords. After, you will be transferred to the hotel. After checking in, follow the team leader to visit the city highlights on foot, including the world cultural heritage, Bryggen, which features neat and colorful three-storey medieval-style wooden houses. Afterwards, take the round-trip Floibanen funicular to Floyen Mountain to enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of Bergen and the fjord. Finally, return to the hotel.

Today is the one and only free day. Bergen is Norway's second largest city and the largest and most beautiful port city on its west coast. You may explore freely in the city, or visit the fish market, Fantoft Stave Church and Bergen Aquarium. Also, don't miss the local shopping center and delicious food.

Today, we will have a breathtaking tour by joining "Norway in a Nutshell". It is one of Norway's most popular routes connecting trains, buses and cruise ships to show you the mountains, villages, waterfalls and fjords of Norway. The first section is a train trip from Bergen to Voss, and then change to a bus to travel along the most thrilling and steepest route of northern Europe to Gudvangen. Later, we will cruise through Naroyfjord, which is the narrowest fjord in the world and also the most charming branch of Sognefjord. The boat will stop at Flam and we will stay one night in this charming little village.

Our group will depart from the hotel at about 10:00 to participate in a Stegastein viewpoint bus tour to visit the spectacular scenery of the fjord. On the way back to Flam, make a stop at Ægir Brewery to enjoy Viking patter for lunch.

After going back to Flam, spend the afternoon freely as you like. Flam's natural landscape is very beautiful and there are many different mountain climbing routes. You can also choose to participate in an optional tour to enjoy a trekking in the nearby mountains.

Today, we will experience two scenic railway lines from Flam to Olso. After breakfast, we will take the Flam Railway to Myrdal. The railway line measuring just 20 kilometers has a height drop of 865 meters and there are impressive forests, fjords, mountains and valleys along it. Then take another train and arrive at Olso in the afternoon. After checking in the hotel, we will have dinner together with other group members and share happy memories.
