Day 1 Beijing
Temple of Heaven
Our guests at the Temple of Heaven
In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel on time. Then, we will take a subway or bus to Tiananmen Square. You can stroll around the square and take some nice photos. Afterwards, we walk to the Forbidden City and enter from the Meridian Gate. Centered by the three main halls, this well-preserved large wooden architectural complex with a history of 600 years used to be the imperial palace where the emperors lived in. After leaving from Gate of Devine Prowess, we go cross the street and arrive at the Jingshan Park. Lunch is arranged on your own and your guide will give you some suggestions on nearby restaurants.

Your 3 days Beijing walking tour will continue to the Jingshan Park where you can have a panoramic view of the Forbidden City in Wanchun Pavilion. It is on the top of the Jingshan Hill which can be reached in 10 minutes’ climbing up. The last stop today is Temple of Heaven. It takes about an hour to go there by subway or bus. Temple of Heaven is the largest sacrificial buildings in China built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). The park is divided into inner part and outer part by an encircling wall with the Circular Mound Altar and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest as main buildings.

Finally, you will be escorted to the nearest subway station. Whether to go back to your hotel or go to the other places is up to you. Your guide will be willing to show you the directions.
Day 2 Beijing
Summer Palace, Beijing
Scenic Summer Palace
Today, we will take the public transportation to visit the Summer Palace. It is the largest and most well-preserved royal garden in China. Based on the Kunming Lake and the Longevity Hill, this large-scale landscape garden is built in the style of gardens in Southern China. At lunch time, you can choose your preferred restaurant, with the kind recommendations from your guide.

After a short break, we will take subway line 4 and transfer to line 2 for about one hour to reach the Yonghe Lama Temple. The temple used to be the administrative center of Tibetan Buddhist affairs in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). There are 238 Buddhist halls among all the architectures in the temple, with special style integrating the Han, Mongol and Manchu Nationalities. Later we will go to the Drum Tower by bus in 30 minutes, and stop for a while to watch and take pictures. The following route is to spend 5 to 10 minutes walking to Houhai hutong area. We will visit the Yandaixie Street, Yinding Bridge, Shichahai Park, and walk through a hutong to see the real life of the old Beijingers.

The second day draws to an end. You may continue to stroll around the Hutong area or go to the bar street to experience the night life in Beijing.
Day 3 Beijing
Great Wall of China
Great Wall, Beijing
The last day of your Beijing walking tours 3 days will be spent on the Badaling or Mutianyu Great Wall according to your choice. Since the Great Wall is far away from downtown area, we will arrange a private transfer for you. It takes about 1.5 hours on the way. You will have enough time to hike on the wall.

Badaling Great Wall is the best-preserved section of the Great Wall with a history of about 2,500 years. Besides hiking on the wall to see the exquisite techniques of this ancient defense system, visitors can also learn more about its history in China Great Wall Museum.

Mutianyu Great Wall has less tourists than Badaling. With the vegetation coverage over 96 percent, this section boasts marvelous and unique scenery all year round. The dense watchtowers are rarely seen among all Great Wall sections. The famous scenic spots include the Zhengguan Terrace and the Big Corner Tower.

How to Choose: Both Badaling and Mutianyu are majestic with beautiful scenery. If you travel on weekends or holidays, Mutianyu Great Wall is more recommended with less tourists. During other time, both of them are enjoyable.

As there is no decent restaurant nearby the Great Wall, we kindly suggest you have a big breakfast at your hotel in the morning and take some snacks for a light lunch. After the Great Wall hiking, your wonderful 3 days Beijing walking tour concludes, and we will drive you back to the hotel.
