After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel to start your one day Nanluoguxiang food tour. The whole morning will be spent in Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. At noon, we will have lunch in an elegant restaurant, which is popular with locals. Roast Duck is the special dish there. If you want to have a taste of it, please tell your guide in advance to make a reservation. Lunch is a la carte and your guide will help you order according to your preference.
Have a glimpse of gracious Forbidden City

After lunch, we will continue to visit the Summer Palace. Finally, have a Nanluoguxiang tour, a well-known night food street. As we have tasted the authentic Chinese food at noon, trying the special local snacks at night is also a nice experience. Your guide will recommend you some famous ones so that you may try according to your interest. Dinner is not include so the cost will be paid by yourself. After that, you will be escorted back to your hotel.

Shichahai Hutong near Nanluoguxiang and the bar street in Houhai are both very famous. If you would like to go on the night tour, you can enjoy yourself there and return back to your hotel by taxi on your own afterwards.

Tiananmen Square
As the largest city square in the world, it is located in the city center with a length of 880 meters (962 yards) and a width of 500 meters (547 yards). There, you will see the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao in the center. Also, the Great Hall of the People is located in the west and the National Museum in the east. As the center of political activities, Tiananmen Square has witnessed plenty of important historic events and is the place of assembly for the most important events now. Also, there is flag-rising ceremony every morning which attracts numerous tourists to see.

Forbidden City
Also known as the Palace Museum, the Forbidden City is the royal palace in the Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasties (1644 - 1911). In 1406, it started to be built with the palace museum in Nanjing as a blueprint. After 15 years of efforts, it was completed in 1420. Since then, the emperors have dealt with the political affairs and lived with the concubines there. Now, it is the largest and most well-preserved ancient wooden architecture in China. There are almost one sixth of the total cultural relics in China, so tourist can see the paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, clocks, jade wares and so on in the past dynasties.
Beijing Roast Duck
Roast Duck, one of the most famous Beijing cuisines, used to be the imperial food which dates back to the Northern (386 - 581) and Southern Dynasties (420 - 589). It is made of high quality duck and roasted with charcoals. Due to its fat but not greasy meat, crispy outside and tender inside, it has been renowned as one of the most delicious foods in China.

Summer Palace
It was the imperial garden in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and now one of the four famous gardens in China. Based on Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, the Summer Palace is a large landscape garden in the style of gardens in southern China. It is composed of administration, living and tourism areas. The administration area is centered on the Hall of Benevolence & Longevity. Behind it is three large courtyards where the royal families lived. The main architectures also include the Garden of Virtue & Harmony, Yiyun House, Tower of Buddhist Incense, etc.
