We arrange the round-trip cable car at the Mutianyu Great Wall and include the ticket fee of cable car in the price. But the toboggan is not included. If you want to take it, you can advise your guide and pay it on the spot. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further question. Thanks for attention.

3 nights in Beijing and 3 nights in Hong Kong
If I arrive to Beijing from Los Angeles on the 17 of July and depart to Hong Kong on the 20th, then to Chiang Mai. Is the 72-Hour for visa for China enough? Since Hong Kong does not require a Visa.
I have a U.S. Passport

Hi, the free transit policy can cover your trip in mainland China, so you don't need to apply for a regular Chinese visa for that trip.

Is this 72 hour visa obtained at the Beijing Airport, or do I need to apply for it before?

Hi, Analucia

I don't think you are qualified for the 72 hr free visa, because in Beijing airport, it counts from the flights' scheduled arrival time to the departure time. You should contact the Chinese embassy to confirm this.

Dongfang Wenyuan Hotel near Wangfujing Pedestrian Street is a good choice. You may take capital airport shuttle bus line 13 and get off at Jinyu Hutong. Then walk there within 5min.

Happy Dragon Courtyard Hostel may also be your choice. Many expats live there, especially the independent travelers. By shuttle bus line 3, one can get off at Dongsishitiao and walk 10-15min to get there.

Hey, you don't need a visa. I have no idea how long you will layover there, but the 24h and 72h visa free transit both suits for your case.

24 hour direct transit visa
I am Indonesian and US Permanent Resident Legally (own green card). I have a flight from Bangkok to DC, layover at Beijing airport for 12 hours. Since the lounges at BJ airport is closed at 2am ( I arrive BJ at 1 am), I would like to get a hotel nearby BJ airport for short stay before my next flight and since I am smoker, I have to step out from the BJ airport building in order to have a cigarette. Am I eligible to have 24 Direct Transit in BJ?. Thanks for any suggestion.

Yes, you are eligible for the 24h visa-free transit, so it is ok to leave the airport and stay outside.
