Day 2 Beijing
Tiananmen Square, National Museum of China, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park. (B)
Mutianyu Great Wall
Today we will take you to the central area of the city to visit the Tiananmen Square, which is the place to hold important national events, such as the Founding Ceremony of China, the daily flag-raising ceremony and the grand military parade. After around 30 minutes' strolling there, we will walk eastward to visit the National Museum of China, and then go northward to enter the Forbidden City.
The National Museum, founded in 1912, has housed more than 1.3 million exhibition pieces since then, which are related to history, culture, art and social development of China. The Forbidden City, with a history of over 600 years, is now the world's largest and best preserved wooden palace complex. Common people were denied entry in ancient times, hence the name. Your guide will accompany you to see a series of palaces and courtyards which were designed and built for the ancient royal family.
Afterwards, we will visit the nearby Jingshan Park. Once on the top of the hill inside, you will have a spectacular view of the Forbidden City with its sparkling rooftops reflecting the sunlight if on a clear day. The last stop today is a popular local market, where you could hunt for gifts or souvenirs that interest you.

Day 3 Beijing
Temple of Heaven, Mutianyu Great Wall with a round-trip cable car, Olympic Bird's Nest. (B)
Temple of Heaven
In the morning, we will head to visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911) held the sacrificial ceremony to the God of Heaven. Your guide will show you around to appreciate the grand architecture and learn about the ancient sacrificial culture. Additionally, you could meander in the surrounding park to experience the morning life of the locals.
The Great Wall of China is probably the No. one must-see for your 6 days Beijing tour package. This afternoon, we will head to visit the Mutianyu Greal Wall, which takes around 1.5 hours' drive. This section is one of the grandest parts with relatively less tourists, which will bring you a better experience. A round-trip cable car has been included, and after ascending to the wall, you could hike to the top watchtower to appreciate the magnificent scenery and take beautiful pictures. Instead of the cable car, we can also arrange a chairlift up and a toboggan down if you are interested.
En route back to the city center, we will make a stopover at the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium), where you could take photos of this significant building.

Day 4 Beijing
Beijing Zoo (including Panda House), Summer Palace, Hutong Visit, 798 Art District. (B)
Rickshaw riding during Hutong tour
We believe no one wants to miss pandas when travelling to China. If you don't go to Chengdu, the zoo in Beijing is a good choice. This morning, your guide will take you to the panda house in the Beijing Zoo to see those lovely creatures. There are 3 halls for adult pandas, young pandas and mother & baby pandas respectively. After that, we will go to visit the Summer Palace, which was the summer resort for the royal families in the Ming and Qing dynasties and now is a huge and distinctive park with amazing landscape. Take your time to enjoy the stunning views of the old buildings, a large lake, long corridors, bridges, gardens, etc.
In the afternoon, we continue this Beijing itinerary 6 days to the Hutongs, narrow alleys lined with residential houses. Most of them are several hundred years old, which could draw you back to the 20th century of China. You will also take a rickshaw ride around the Hutongs and feel the old ambience of Beijing. Afterwards, we will drive to the 798 Art District, a multi-cultural space integrating galleries, artists' studios, bars and distinctive shops.

Day 5 Beijing
Beihai Park, Lama Temple, Temple of Confucius, Guozijian Museum (Imperial Academy). (B)
This morning, we will take you to visit the Beihai Park, a very large and beautiful park. Centrally located in this bustling city, this park is a haven of tranquility. After that, we will visit a unique Tibetan styled temple - the Lama Temple, also known as the Yonghe Lamasery. With more than 300 years of history, the buildings in the temple have been kept in good condition. Although there are many prayers and tourists every day, you could also find your inner peace in the temple.
Across the street, we will come to the Temple of Confucius, the second largest Confucian Temple in China which was built at the beginning of the 14th century. There you will enjoy the beautiful complex as well as listen to the story of Confucius. Its neighbor is Guozijian Museum (Imperial Academy), which was the institute of the highest education during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (1271 - 1911). It is also the place where the emperors used to deliver lectures.
