Day01 Arrival in Beijing
Welcome to China's capital city - Beijing! Our guide will meet you at the arrival hall of the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to explore this ancient but developed city.
Our clients visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall
Today we will take you to the most center area of this city, the Tiananmen Square, where you will visit the National Museum of China, and the Forbidden City. The National Museum was founded in 1912 and it has housed more than 1.3 million exhibition pieces since then, all of which are about the history, culture, art and social development of China. Next we lead you to the famous Forbidden City. You will see a series of courtyards, huge palaces designed and built for the ancient royal family. Common people were denied entry in these exclusive city, hence the name. Be prepared to take a long walk. Our excellent guide will accompany you go through the palace and explain the history and significance of what you are seeing. The last stop today is the nearby Jingshan Park. Once you are on the hill top in the park, you will have a spectacular view of the Forbidden City with its sparkling rooftops reflecting the sunlight and also the faraway mountain if in a clear day.
Temple of Heaven
The Great Wall of China is probably the first must-see for travelers to Beijing. Today we will take you to visit the Mutianyu section. It takes up to two hours driving there. This section has been nicely restored to show its original grandeur. And it is less crowded, which allows you to snap many beautiful pictures. We will arrange you take cable car up the wall and then hike up to the top tower. The views are very much worth it. There is a toboggan and it is a great way to finish off an awesome experience by taking it down the wall. If you want to take this instead of cable car down the wall, just inform you guide in advance. In the afternoon, you will visit the Sacred Way, which is the approach to the ancient emperor's tomb. It is also called Divine Road, means the road leading to the heaven. You will walk along the road lined with statues of animals and officials and also get through the great arches. Most of travelers enjoy strolling in the tranquil and peace path. After that, we will drive you back to the hotel in downtown. En route, we will stopover at the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). You will see its appearance at a distance and take photos.
We believe that it is a great experience to see pandas when travelling in China. This morning, our guide will take you to the panda house in Beijing Zoo to see those lovely creatures. You will see many pandas, young and old, some active and some lazy. After that we will turn to the beautiful Summer Palace. It was the summer resort for the ancient royal families, now it is a huge and distinctive park. You will have time to enjoy the stunning view of the old buildings, large lake, long corridors, bridges, gardens, etc. Then we will proceed to have a Hutong tour. Hutongs are narrow alleys lined with residential courtyards. It is one of the features of Beijing. Most of them are several hundred years old. You will take a rickshaw riding around the old narrow hutongs and feel the old ambience of Beijing.
Rickshaw riding during Hutong tour
This morning, we will take you to a unique Tibetan styled temple - Lama Temple (Yonghe Lamasery). With more than 300 years history, the buildings of the temple have been kept in good condition. Although there are many prayers and tourists every day, the peace of this temple can be palpable. After that, you will tour the Beihai Park, a very large and beautiful park. Centrally located in this busy city, this park is a haven of tranquility. There are also lots of great photo opportunities. The last stop of today is the Temple of Heaven, which was the place the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties holding the sacrificial ceremony. Our guide will accompany you enjoy the stunning structure and tell you the interesting history. You could also spend time meandering through the groups of local people doing Tai Chi, dancing, doing excises, or watch a game of mahjong, or just enjoy the serenity.
