Tour Highlights
Dazu Rock Carvings

The Dazu Rock Carvings refer to the cliff engravings in Dazu County during the Tang and Song Dynasties, including more than 70 large clusters, over 50,000 religious statues and numerous text inscriptions. Among them, the rock carvings in Baodingshan and Beishan are the most prominent. First carved in early Tang Dynasty, it took efforts of several generations to accomplish the whole grotto complex. Most statues and figures follow prominent Buddhist theme, and exquisitely depict the daily life of Tang people. Since the Beishan grottoes have fared worse by weather damage, our guide will take you to the Baodingshan Scenic Area which has remained in better condition and where you can still see the brightly-colored paintings on the remaining carving works.

Ci Qi Kou Ancient Village
Ci Qi Kou is a folk village with a far-reaching history of more than 1,000 years. Well-preserved architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasties are lined on both sides of the alleys. While you are roaming along the narrow lanes, dazzling snack vendors, craftwork shops and tea houses showcase a lively scene. For delicacy hunters, they should not miss the chance to taste the famous Chen's Mahua (Chinese fried dough twist). Alternatively, enjoying a cup of tea at a local tea house is also a nice choice.
