In the morning at the appointed time, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in downtown area. Then we'll start our Forbidden City walking tour. We will first drive you to Tiananmen Square right to the south of the Forbidden City and walk through it to reach Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square is one of the world's largest urban squares with solemn Monument to the People's Heroes and Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao located. Forbidden City is the ancient imperial palace complex in wooden structure as well as a museum with a large amount of priceless treasures.Coming out of Forbidden City from the Gate of Divine Prowess, Jingshan Park is in front of us, the next stop of our Forbidden City walking tour. Lying on the central axis of Beijing, Jingshan Park is originally a royal garden of the Yuan (1271-1368 AD), Ming (1368-1644 AD) and Qing (1644-1911 AD) dynasties. The Wanchun Pavilion in the park is the highest point there, from where you can overlook the whole Forbidden City and other landmarks in Beijing. It takes about 10 minutes to climb to the Wanchun Pavilion. If you have enough physical strength, we strongly suggest you do not miss it. If you don't want to climb the steps, you can also stroll around the park to enjoy the beautiful views and get a glimpse of the daily life of the locals.
