One day before the Guilin day trip, the guide will confirm the departure time with you by calling you through hotel or leaving a message to the hotel. Then at the appointed time in the morning, the guide and the driver will pick you up at the hotel booked by yourself. After a warm greeting, we will head to the first scenic spot - Reed Flute Cave. In the scenic area, tourists will mainly go sightseeing to the karst cave and meanwhile appreciate the scenery of the villages, mountains and water around. Then we will go to the Elephant Trunk Hill. The hill looks like a giant elephant drinking water from the river, thus named so. It is regarded as the representative and symbol of the landscapes in Guilin.

Lunch will be dealt by yourself. The guide will be glad to recommend you some special restaurants and food according to your taste. Afterwards, we will drive to Daxu Ancient Town in 50 minutes. It is one of the four ancient market towns in Guangxi. Most ancient residences on road sides are two-storey buildings built with blue bricks and tiles in the Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasties (1644 - 1911). The atmosphere there is ancient, simple and quiet. After the Guilin one day trip ends, the guide will accompany you back to the hotel in downtown Guilin.

Reed Flute Cave
The scenic area is composed of the most spectacular Reed Flute Cave, Guangming Mountain, Taohua River, Fanglian Lake, etc. Reed Flute Cave is on the south mountainside of Guangming Mountain. The dazzling stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains and stone flowers there resemble the human and objects and form more than 30 vivid wonderful scenes. With the combination of the light show, the whole cave is like a magnificent palace. Since Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), it has been a scenic spot and many tourists have left mural inscriptions and paintings there. To facilitate the travelers, a canteen, a teahouse, pavilions, a lake and bridges have been built since it is open to the public.
Reed Flute Cave
Elephant Trunk Hill
Situated at the confluence of Taohua River and Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill is named after its outlook of an elephant drinking water from the river. The main scenic spots there are the Water Moon Cave, Elephant Eye Rock, Puxian Pagoda and so on. Water Moon Cave is a circular cave between the elephant trunk and legs, which appears to be a bright moon over the water. Specially, there are more than 50 stone carvings of different dynasties in the cave. Elephant Eye Rock used to be a short ancient underground waterway. It got the name because its location exactly at the eye of the elephant. Puxian Pagoda on the mountain top is built in the Ming Dynasty to worship the Samantabahdra.
Daxu Ancient Town
23 kilometers (14 miles) away from Guilin, the ancient town is located on the east bank of Li River. It was first established in the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127). And since 600 years ago, it has ranked first on the four well-known ancient towns in Guangxi. The ancient flagstone pavement by the river is 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) long and 2 meters (2 yards) wide and is paved with 15,000 pieces of quartzite and some pebbles. On both roadsides stand residences in brick and wood structure with a history of about hundreds of years. In Daxu Ancient Town, the Longevity Bridge is unmissable, a stone arch bridge built in the Ming Dynasty. With the Li River to its west, it boasts the best position to appreciate the scenery of Li River and the opposite Snail Hill.
