Then it is followed by the charming Ronghu Lake which is located in the city center. Your guide will accompany you to take a leisurely walk to discover the Ancient South Gate and a century-old banyan tree. Afterwards, continue the stroll forward to the Shanhu Lake, where you could view the two gorgeous pagodas at a distance. Then we will get to the East-West Alley by a 10-minute drive. If you prefer walking, you could walk over to the alley in about 20 minutes. The East-West Alley is the only historical quarter in Guilin, with well-preserved residences in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1912), and it is now lined with fancy restaurants, boutique stores, cafes and bars. Lunch will be at your own expense, and your guide would be glad to offer you recommendations on the restaurants and local food choices. After that, you could linger in the East-West Alley for 1 or 2 hours to explore more hidden gems.

Tour Highlights
Reed Flute Cave
The Reed Flute Cave is a renowned karst cave with a great number of stalagmites and stalactites in shapes of bamboo shoots, pillars, curtains and flowers, turning it into a splendid underground palace. Inside the cave, you could discover more astonishing sights, such as stone lions, miniature forest, pagodas and crystal chambers. Each has a romantic or interesting story associated with it. The vivid interpretations of your guide along with the lighting also add a sense of mystery to the scene. A trip to the cave lasts about 40 minutes. As the paths inside are a bit slippery, your are suggested to wear a pair of antiskid shoes and mind the steps.
The peculiar stalactites illuminated by colored lighting in the cave are fantastic and attractive
Elephant Trunk Hill
The Elephant Trunk Hill is a naturally-formed hill that vividly resembles a big elephant drinking water from the Li River with its long trunk. In the belly of the hill nestles a time-honored wine cellar of the Sanhua Liquor, one of the most famous specialties of Guilin, and the cellar houses liquors amounting to thousands of tons. Besides, there is another fascinating sight, the Lovers Island, which is a stunning spot to capture the beauty of the entire Elephant Trunk Hill.

As it is usually rainy and humid in Guilin, the climbing steps leading to the top of the hill could be slippery and risky. Considering your personal safety, climbing the Elephant Trunk Hill will not be included in this tour. Hope for your kind understanding.
