Day 1 Arrival in Shanghai
Sincere greetings & airport-hotel transfer.
Your Shanghai Tibet tour will begin upon your arrival at Shanghai airport. After reclaiming your luggage and clearing customs, your professional English-speaking guide will meet you at the exit and transfer you to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to recover from jet lag, venture into local streets, or explore the city on your own; our representative, and the hotel, can advise you of what best to do.
Day 2 Shanghai
Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden, Huangpu River cruise, the Bund, Tianzifang Art street. (B)

In the morning, you will visit Shanghai Museum and Yu Garden. Shanghai Museum is a major exhibition of ancient Chinese art, such as bronze vessels, pottery, porcelain, ancient works of calligraphy, and painting, as well as furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties (14th to early 20th century). Yuyuan Garden is a treasure among the gardens in China. Lunch is not included, but you can ask your guide for advice regarding a suitable restaurant.
We then take a short cruise on Huangpu River, which is lined with colonial western buildings on the west bank, and rows of huge mansions on the east bank. We will have some free time to explore the Bund and an ancient cultural street- Tianzifang, before getting back to the hotel.

Day 3 Shanghai - Lhasa
Fly to Lhasa. Airport-hotel transfer. (B)
Today our guide will escort you to the airport, and you will board an early morning flight to Lhasa, the next destination of your Shanghai Tibet tour. After landing, the local guide will greet you outside the baggage claim area, and transfer you to your hotel. The altitude of Lhasa is 3,650 meters (11,975 feet) above sea level. Some clients may suffer light altitude stress after arrival, so the remainder of the day is left for you to rest and adapt yourself to the high altitude.

Day 4 Lhasa
Tibet Museum, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka Park. (B)
Sera Monastery, Lhasa
If you want to know a city, the best way is to visit its museum, so your private Lhasa tour starts with the Tibet Museum. The cultural relics exhibited here best show the unique culture and history of Tibet, as well as its development over the last 50 years. Then we will take you to visit the Sera Monastery, one of the three largest monasteries in Lhasa. The monastery is famous for its large collection of Buddhist sutras, statues, instruments, and frocks from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as those from India. The next stop will be Norbulingka Park. Regarded as the Summer Palace in Lhasa, the park has been transformed to a complex garden comprising of ancient palaces, beautiful gardens, and woods.

Day 5 Lhasa
Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, A Nunnery. (B)
Your first destination of today's Shanghai Tibet tour is the holy Potala Palace. Initially built in the 7th century during the Tang Dynasty, it was the imperial palace of Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. Within the Potala Palace, you will not only see the majestic White Palace and Red Palace, but also appreciate many precious historical items. The next stop will be the Jokhang Temple, which combines the architectural styles of the Tang Dynasty, Tibet, Nepal, and India. In the early afternoon, your visit continues to Barkhor Street, which is outside of Jokhang Temple. Afterwards, you will visit a Nunnery.

Day 6 Departure from Lhasa
Hotel-airport transfer & see you off. A nice onward journey! (B)
Your 6 days travel to Tibet from Shanghai will be finished. A private transfer to the airport is arranged for you today, and your tour guide will help you board your outbound flight. Wish you a nice trip!
