It is a large scale armed forces made of pottery sculptures in Qin Dynasty (221 - 207 BC). It is built as the burial objects of Emperor Qin Shi Huang to reproduce the spectacular army in his lifetime. The most amazing of Terracotta Warriors is the different expressions, hairstyle, gestures and clothes of each sculpture from which tourists are able to distinguish their identities. And most of them are carved according to the real life, making them more vivid and showing strong features at that time.
The miraculous pottery figurines in Terracotta Warriors
The Terracotta Warriors has opened three pits and unearthed 800 warrior figures, 18 wooden chariots and more than 100 pottery horses. The first pit was discovered in 1974 accidently by a farmer when he was digging a well. It is the largest one with quantities of clay sculptures and horses and bronze weapons. Pit 2 gathers the essence of the terracotta warriors. It has the most magnificent battle formation covering infantry, cavalry, chariot soldiers and archers. The terracotta general, the cavalry warrior with saddle horse and the kneeling archer are also first discovered there. Pit 3 is a small command center with a chariot and horse chamber in the middle and one wing room on each side. Besides, in the Exhibition Hall of Historical Relics, tourists can see the treasure of the museum - Bronze Chariots and Horses.
